What do you guys think of Beck's?
Beck's beer. It is very drinkable and good. My fav is still Heineken. What are you thought's of Beck's? It cost about as much as Budweiser, XX, and Coors cost where i live.

Re: What do you guys think of Beck's?
Becks, never a great fan, I rate it slightly above Carlsberg whcih i dislike as well. Best beer-ish beverage is guinness, followed by local real ales, especially if you can find it Duchy Originals honey ale.

Beck's is good with German food, or when you want to impress folks at a party full of rednecks.

Re: What do you guys think of Beck's?
Beck's is alright. it is not really shitty like coors or bud, but its definitely not as good as An IPA or a Guinness. I would drink it, but it is for sure not my first choice. I also find that all beers that have green bottles always taste a little skunky, which I really don't like since it starts to cover the true flavor of the hops. The only beer that I like that comes in a green bottle is Yuengling.

It's okay. I don't drink a lot of beer personally but it's drinkable. It's good to get a crate of to get pissed with but in a pub I'd stick to Guinness.

Re: What do you guys think of Beck's?
Becks is reasonable.
Becks Vier is also ok.
Carlsberg is certainly not a 'boutique' beer. It's cheap as shit and produces the most foul smelling farts the next day. Carlsberg Export is a lot nicer than the regular stuff though.

Because I realised I have alot going for me except being a chubby bastard, so I have decided to change that, and since I have a year off I may as well make the most of it and get healthy and alcohol is certainly not an essential part of a diet, sadly
p.s. I have a bottle of single malt waiting for me once I acheive my weight loss aims...

Re: What do you guys think of Beck's?
I dislike Becks. I'm not a big fan of any Frisian bier except Jever Maibock (only brewed once a year).
North germans don't really make good beer, although there are some exceptions. Moravia Pils is drinkable, so is 'Astra'.

Becks is alright, but for my money nothing is better than a chilled Guinness Extra Stout. Belgium makes some good beer, although I can't recall specific names, I do remember that they were awfully expensive. I tried several once at a Flying Saucer Pub in Little Rock, AR

Re: What do you guys think of Beck's?
personally i find becks to be a bit... i dunno, a bit weak, especially considering when compared to VB, crownies or carlton draught, the typical beers you'd find in australia, oh and XXXX is shit, so is that blonde crap
oh and if your ever in NZ best beer ever is speights, it is a damn fine drop

Belgium makes some of the bestes beers in the world-lambic ones ftw! I'd go as far as to say that Belgium makes even better beers than Germany...at times anyways.

I don't understand why so many people are rating Becks v. Guinness like they are at all interchangeable, or deserve to be in the same rating class. They aren't even the same type of fucking beer.

Wtf, 'boutique' beers? These are the most mainstream beers you could find.
I've tried a Brazillian beer not long ago, "Nova Schin" - best cheapish lager I've tried so far.
Can't find where I can buy it in bulk over here yet though.
I'd say Stella comes second in the cheapish range for me.

Good man, guinness is the best, though draught guinness is still better than the canned stuff.

Re: What do you guys think of Beck's?
I don't really like many lagers (Stella Artois and Desperados aside) and Beck's isn't any different from any of those horrible cheap lagers - tastes like watered down fizzy piss-water.
I quite like Guinness. Favourite beer is probably Spitfire or Old Bob.

Is Guinness an acquired taste? I remember tasting it once, and not liking it very much.
Was about three years ago though, I should give it another go one of these days.

Definitely an acquired taste, first time I tried guinness I was not fond of it at all but now I love the stuff. It is quite strong, much stronger than fizzy watered down piss like stella.

Actually it's not strong at all. It's just heavy and thick which makes it seem strong. Guinness has one of the lowest alcohol contents there is, similar to something like Coors light. In my experience many stouts have lower alcohol content, which is why people trying to loose weight but still want the flavor tend to choose Guinness.
Guinness Original/Extra Stout—4.2 or 4.3% abv

Yeah, this. I think it's just an opportunity to show off that they drink Guinness, like every other Guinness-drinking teen who thinks they're sophisticated because they don't drink lager. Drink it if you like it, but it's not impressive, it's common as fuck.
Becks is alright, I don't really rate it but I'll take it over Fosters or Carling or some shit like that. If I'm gonna drink a mainstream lager I prefer Stella Artois or Kronenbourg. If I have more of a choice, Fischer, Desperados (props to whoever mentioned it) or occasionally Kronenbourg Blanc. It might be a girly beer, but goddamn is it nice after a few normal beers.

That's pretty much what I assumed.
My general go to beer is Boddingtons, I love N2 taps and it really tastes like a comfort beer to me. If I'm at a bar with any beer from Lost Coast brewing I'll usually choose that also. Recently I had a black lager called Death and Taxes that I found really really pleasant. There is no category for the few above, it's just what I drink on a regular basis.
And for all you "Guinness fans" out there. If you want a real stout that will give you a kick in the ass try Old Rasputin. 9% abv and fucking delicious to boot.
