There are people worth only small talk, and there are people worth having hours and hours of conversation with. First meetings/first impressions are usually rife with selling points, and it usually takes some time to find our whether people are as interesting as their first impression.

i've never even continued talking with a girl i didn't reeally want. but it's usually myself hyping myself up over her looks and that she's into me, making her have a "great personality." but somewhere along the line one of us loses interest.

i disagree, its usually fairly easy to judge whether a girl is interesting or not at the first meeting in my experince.
