Default If you dissolve a soluble power in water does the solution retain the solvents smell?

What's going in what? Maybe you should rephrase your question. What solvent, the powder being referred to as the solvent? You wouldn't smell a powder dissolved in water because the molecules have no way of making it to your nose. Liquids and gasses dissolved in water would retain the smell, but I still don't know what you're asking.

Considering the solvent is water, it would smell like water.

What you're really asking about is the solute.

Do you want to smuggle coke in a water bottle past drug dogs or something?

Whoops, yeah, solute is the word. Spot on mr rolly eyes, what I really want to know is if dissolving a drug in water could be a way of helping to avoid detection by, amongst other things, dogs.
