What does Carwin offer that Mir doesn't have a better version of?

Seriously, I am amped for this fight. Mostly just because I really hate Mir. I think realistically Mir needs to use his speed to pepper Carwin from the outside, look for holes, and make Carwin work, tire him out and then finish him off.

If Mir just bullrushes in he may catch Carwin with a shot, but I think Carwin has a good chin despite sloppy defense, and he leaves himself wide open for that huge wrecking ball of right hand. I'm keen to see if Carwin tries a Brock and takes him down and smothers him, but I don't think he's skilled enough to negate Mir's groundgame.

Apart from a flash KO from either man, I generally see this as Mir dominating the technical standup, then getting caught with a widow maker.

Ergh, just no. I'm a huge brock fan, and I'd love to see how he stacks up against the other class HWs in the UFC. I don't want to see him fight Mir for the next two years over and over again. Boring.

I don't see Mir losing this but the guy needs his ass kicked, hard. He isn't that impressive to watch, but he is willing to get the fuck kicked out of him to get a submission which I can appreciate. His record isn't that impressive either I'm going to root for Shane but bet Frank is going to crush.

Obviously nobody wants to watch the same two fighters face off again and again and again, that would just get stale. But Lesnar and Mir have a fucking hilariously entertaining rivalry between them now, and I have a feeling that's just going to intensify as time passes.

The whole Mir saying he wanted Lesnar to be the first person to die from "Octagon-related injuries" and that he was gonna break Lesnar's neck was lulz.

Knock out power isn't the only part of great stand up you know. Carwin has absolutely no head movement whatsoever. Gonzaga - his only notable opponent - still managed to catch him in the face a few times, and he isn't particularly known for his striking. Mir had crisper striking than Kongo and managed to slip several of his strikes.

Mir's only shot is to use speed and footwork, and pepper him from the outside. Carwin seems pretty slow and gets real close when he throw that bomb. if he comes in Frank will have to clinch.

What happens in the clinch may be the deciding factor for this fight.

Hmm some of those fights haven't taken place especially Lesnar vs Carwin or Santos and Mir vs same 2.

Kind of inaccurate when you judge a better opponent before they have even fought especially when one is the champ and the other who already has been.
