Default The Saw is Family--TCM revisited

This thread is for horror fans in general, Texas Chainsaw Massacre fans in particular. i think it is one of the best franchaises ever.

I was prompted to start this thread by a recent rewatching of TCM 2 (1986)--mainly notable due to a pre-rehab Dennis Hopper as one of the stars--part of the fun is trying to figure out what drug he is on at any given time in the flick.

I especially liked the opening scene, in which two rich teenage assholes get their comeuppance, big time.

It also features "Stretch," one of the most appealing female leads ever, and a totally over the top ending.

Weaknesses--pacing drags toward the end, and there is way more screaming than I like to listen to.

I liked the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, not a favorite series but good nonetheless, but i didnt like the newest one The Beginning or something, it was tried to focus on the scare you by making a loud sound then just making it weird and creepy

I am not rrying to be cute or contentious here, but I have no idea what the above means.

Could someone who does please elucidate?

I'm guessing from what you said beforehand he remembered that about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and added it to his memory, but total guess here

I like the original one and the remake from like 5 years ago, but I thought the Beginnings was pretty crap.

Sorry me old seadawg, but I forgot about these films, just re-added them to my memory, to re-watch them, at some point.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I thought you were talking some obscure esoteric high-tech stuff there, my savvy of which is woefully inadequate.
