Default Why do my legs hurt after I wake up?

Every morning and even after just a nap, my legs always have this shitty aching feeling. I'll touch my toes fro 20 seconds then do some jumping jacks but it doesn't really help. It's mainly in the lower/calf section. The only thing I could think of is I have restless leg syndrome and my legs are sore from moving them alot. I'm in fairly decent shape so I'd have to run quite a bit for my legs to be sore so I'd think it'd be noticable to family members if I was sprinting in my sleep. Does anyone else get this feeling?

This is a common symptom of aging. Believe me I know your pain, although courtesy of the military I can't honestly tell you where the fuck my body aches stem from although I am sure it didn't help. My knees and lower back are fucked.

I used to get terrible cramps in my calf muscles right after waking up- mine turned out to be a result of calcium deficiency, so you might give supplements a shot.

Go see a Chiropractor. You'd be surprised how much that can help symptoms such as these.

LEG PAIN

Leg pain can be due to irritation of the sciatic nerve (see under Back Pain) or can be caused by referred pain from the low back or pelvis. Leg pain may also be due to strains in the muscles or damage to the hip, knee or ankle.

I'm not saying this would help it for sure. But if the problem lies in the above mentioned problems, a Chiropractor could help immensely I presume

You should see a doctor, a while back i had a similar problem, however mine was a numbing hurting/tired sensation after waking up. It ended up being a pinched nerve.

How old are you? If you are my age or near it consider the following from http://www.americanheart.org/present...tifier=3020252:

Quote:
Many people dismiss leg pain as a normal sign of aging. You may think it’s arthritis or sciatica or just “stiffness” from getting older. PAD leg pain occurs in the muscles, not the joints. Those with diabetes might confuse PAD pain with a neuropathy, a common diabetic symptom that is a burning or painful discomfort of the feet or thighs. If you're having any kind of recurring pain, talk to your healthcare professional and describe the pain as accurately as you can. If you have any of the risk factors for PAD, you should ask your healthcare professional about PAD even if you aren't having symptoms.
Quote:
Symptoms of severe PAD include:

* Leg pain that doesn't go away when you stop exercising
* Foot or toe wounds that won't heal or heal very slowly
* Gangrene
* A marked decrease in the temperature of your lower leg or foot particularly compared to the other leg or to the rest of your body.
