What pissess me off is those dumb bitches who get kidnapped and don't do anything to escape, like Emily Smart. She was paraded around and even brought to church, kareoke, and parties and was 10 blocks from her house and she was returned by police like a year later.

I remember watching this show about these two boys(probably between the ages of 12 to 14) who were kidnapped by this one man, and he basically kept them locked up in his house for a while. I think he molested them, but if he didn't he was at the least very psychotic. After a few months, he started letting the boys pretty much do whatever they wanted; even let them have friends and sent them to school. Yet for some reason those two boys decided to stay with that seedy motherfucker.

When watching that show, I wondered why the fuck those boys didn't just get up and walk away from that creepy guy when they had all those chances. Stockholm syndrome or not, when I was that age I had enough attachment to my family and way of life that I'd do anything to escape from some nasty middle-aged guy who wanted me for my ass hole.

Oh I agree that most children wouldn't attempt to escape. I just think that they're stupid for not trying at that age. It's not like you always know what's best for yourself at the age of 12, but by then one should know better than to reward your captor for keeping you locked up for several months by becoming his anal bitch. I mean I know a lot of kids wouldn't try to escape around the age of 12, but I think they could have the capacity to. Maybe most kids have been coddled so much that they cannot even make a basic decision about their well-being, like escaping from a kidnapping nutbag?

Sounds to me you're angry over nothing. So kids at the age of 12 are stupid, no shit, so what? Beat your kids often and hard & teach them Krav Maga, you can go to sleep a happy man knowing your kids will not fall fictim to Stockholm Syndrome or some manipulative bastard at least 3 times their age.

It doesn't work that way. We're humans, and we're soft and weak and dumb well until our mid-teen years, some of us earlier, some never grow out of it.

You having been kidnapped and raped and being pissed off about having grown to love your captor & not having done more to escape would be the easy route to take here, I'm not going to do that. But I seriously don't see why you would get worked up over something like that.
