Default More Gun market hype?

Winchester has come out with a .410 "defense load," that is "designed for the .410 the judge taurus revolver," which has a 3 lead disks and 12 pellets, which they don't specify the shot size. They claim it acheives "maximum effectiveness," out of a judge revolver. How max of an effect can you make it out of an completely ineffective revolver besides using.45LC in it. What do you guys think, hype or something that might actually do what it says?

I wonder if this is just hype or the real deal and they actually have an acceptable defense loads for the judge besides a .45 LC?
I saw this in my natchez shooter supply catalog and i wonder if anyone else has noticed this?

Waits for box o truth review*

Looks like it is copper plated.

On sale for 12.99 for 10 rounds which isn't to bad.

The slug and shot thing has been done before. The 410 ones are interesting though because they are disks.

seems like the disks might do good up close my bet is at a distance they start going end over end and really go all over the place.

i would like the judge if it was in 28 guage or something even if it only held 3 shots .410 is just a shitty guage expecialy for a handgun the .45colt option is better and even then its not much of an advantage over better handguns

Oh yeah I agree. Everytime I see some one pick it up at a gun show or whatever and they say"now this is the best most BAD ASS gun man" I snicker to myself. Its like dude, your better off with a .38 speacia snubbie than that.

Most worthless overpriced handgun ever. My pal bought one in the 6" barrel model and was dead set on the idea that he could shoot pheasants out of the air with his shiny badass gun while we were fencing on our northern most patch of land. I'll just say that many boxes of expensive ass shotgun shells, some less than manly behavior and zero pheasants later, I had taken alot more with my 12 ga Maverick and various .22 weapons. It was also far less accurate using .45lc shells than a very very cheap Virginia Arms Co. revolver that my other pal had.
Overall, I doubt this ammo has the ability to make a pretty poor handgun into a good one for anything more than 10 yards. And they make shotshells for snakes, so nobody will bother. For $500 or so, I can get an upper almost, or another Glock or a revolver worth a shit.

though I agree with you FTM. It is not taurus or anything to do with quality it is because .410 through that short ass barrel is useless.
I am way more accurate with my taurus .38 sp shooting DOUBLE ACTION than I am with my XD-9 semi auto. Thats with a 2 inch barrel on the 38 snub compared to a 4inch on the xd-9.

Ballistics gel tests would be interesting. But I think i'd still rather a 9mm auto with a few hi-cap mags.
