Form letters and autofinding recipients

I'm trying to track down an ap to incorporate into a website, that will allow someone to put in their zip code, causing it to generate and send a form letter to a state representative (or whoever we put in thedatabase) if they're able to personalize the form letter it would be awesome.

Anyone know of a freeware version of such a thing?

If you can find a webpage that lists the representatives by their zipcodes (or visa-versa) then it'd be pretty easy to do. Get that and I'm sure you could find a willing coder around here

edit: well bugger, actually what i've got is aninteractive web ap, not a basic list....let me dig an i'll PM you.

I've seen a website that did just this. You entered your address and name and shit, and it would put your name and address on the letter to the representative for that area, and you could print it out and send it.

I don't recall where it is, but I know it's possible.

its the printing out and sending part where most people fail..if they can just click send, or even click queue and we can send i think it'll go further.

found a site that looks up reps by state + zip: https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml
when you fill it in the req. is
POST /htbin/wrep_findrep state=<stateabbreviation><fullstate>&zip=<zip>&zip 4=<extrazip>

aka something like
/htbin/wrep_findrep state=CACalifornia&zip=90210&zip4=
(zip4 doesnt have to be filled in to work)

thanks olive, i managed to find a listing of them..i had no idea there were so many. like a hundred fucking reps. that's a lot of fossils to be convinced that everyone wants this.
