Default Craigslist Scamming Thread

Let's start a thread on craigslist scams.
I personally have never done any scamming, just social engineering to some extent so im assuming that scamming takes some skill at social eng. right?
So if you know any good scams, post them here.
We all know how to rip n run so don't post that stupid shit. That is not a scam, that's just stealing plain and simple.

Buy a disappearing ink pen, one that lasts like an hour or two. Also have a pre-paid cell phone that isn't connected to you in anyway (Cash and wear a disguise when buying it). Tell the seller you want to pay in check and if he goes for it, find someone's check book and write a check with your disappearing ink pen. Take the stuff you "bought," from him and just bounce. Throw away the phone since its useless now.

A friend of mine use to sell WOW accounts for $300 each. When he'd get an email he talked them into paying to his paypal and he did this three times. He had a paypal debit card and would just run to an atm as soon as they sent the money and withdrawal it. Obviously in a day or so he'd know that they would file a claim, but he didnt care cause he had $900 bucks in cash.. Kind f a one time scam though cause now his paypal is negative that money and he cant use it..but he had put fake info before this all happened so nothing at all has happened from this and it's been over 6 months.

If you have paypal and are desperate and dont give a fuck use this method.. I heard my friend had a nice week or two of shooting dope nonstop with the money

I wanted to get into something like this. The WOW market is larger but I'm more familiar with the Runescape market. If you selling accounts or gold can you prove that the transaction occured? Can you still be reported? Also is there a time limit they have to report you. I was thinking have recovery questions and after X amount of time recover and resell the account.

I don't think you can charge back on intangible items like accounts.

Thats what I'm thinking. There's really no way to prove someone received something online, compared to being shipped an item. If you received alot complaints could paypal or whatever take action against your account?

What exactly did they win? Does paypal have the right to take back money from your account if they rule it was obtained in a scam?

I've done this and a claim was filed so i called up paypal and all they told me to do was dispute the claim stating it was "Digital Goods"

They won the paypal claim, even though paypals TOS doesnt apply for intangible goods. When they "won" they didnt get shit (from me atleast) cause the cash was gone so my account went negative. We both sent paypal emails of our deal discussion and i said i sent the account info obviously, he basically said i didnt. But because i had 4 people claiming all at once paypal decided against me. Maybe give it a try with just one scam at a time would be better?

Another way you can do is talk someone into sending the money via western union or some other non traceable method as well, but you'll need some smooth convincing skills.

I see. And Paypal doesn't reprimand you or suspend your service? So basically
I just might.

Yeah alot of the black market trading sites warn against using wester
union, ect. But I think no matter what order you use you can always recover a
member account, even w/o recoverys as long as you have CC and address,
and stuff.

Does the WOW thing still work?

A friend of mine did this loads of times an paypal allways sided with him because it was intangable, but then paypal changed their policy and it kinda fucked things up and also craigslist made it harder to post ads in different countries.

you could try to fake things on CL too, things you don't actually have, that are worth a lot of cash.

when someone emails you wanting the item, you make plans to meet in an isolated area. most ppl if they are buying they come pick it up. you could meet at an empty house in the suburbs, take the guy around to the back of the house and rob them for their cash.

people ARE that stupid. Thats why scams work. because of the shiftyness of the scammer and the stupidity of the suckers getting screwed.
i got $50 via western union cause some dumbass 12 year old thought i was going to send him some xbox live point card things...people are idiots.

Once you have one hook, you can have them machined for very cheap. Then sell them for 9001% mark-up.

After reading the beginning of this thread, how effective would it be to actually buy Runescape/WoW accounts on paypal (more than one at a time) from a trusted user who would actually give you the account. They likely wouldn't drain the account fast (no reason to), but then you could make multiple claims against them. Paypal could give you your money back, but you would still have control of the accounts, which you could then incorporate in to another web of scams.
