Fza presents, "Morbs Metal Madness", a zoklet compilation vol. I
So Morb is an old coot that doesn't know what's hip and happening anymore in the field of metal music. And the honour has befallen me to try to make that old fucker move is neck muscles again.
So I asked him what his favourite bands were and I tailored a compilation album to it, so it's mostly thrash and death with some other stuff thrown into that mix for the flavour. I tried to keep it as new possible, new meaning after Morb went into his old man snooze. And the other objective I set myself was that it had to fit on one cd. It's mostly bands I suspect he is not familiar with, with one notable exception ofcourse.
And the rest of you may enjoy this too.
Code:
01. Hail of Bullets - Before the Storm (Barbarossa)
02. Hail of Bullets - Ordered Eastward
03. Warbringer - Scorched Earth
04. Diablo - Hammer
05. Aghora - Garuda
06. Abadden - Resurrection
07. Kiuas - On Winds of Death We Ride
08. Alchemist - Tide In, Mind Out
09. Volbeat - Sad Man's Tongue
10. Slayer & Ice-T - Disorder
11. Sacrifice - The Ones I Condemn
12. Skindred - Nobody
13. Pro-pain - Fistful of Hate
14. The Lucifer Principle - Dirt
15. Solace - Suspicious Tower
16. Therapy? - Rise Up
17. Demonica - Demon Class
18. Testament - F.E.A.R.
19. American Heritage - Bootal: Axxes of Evil
Now bang your head Morb! But don't bang your head too hard, cause it might snap off.
Forgot the ugly cover I made:

Now do one with good metal, i.e. more melodic and less thrashy. Cos that thrash/death metal stuff is unlistenable.

Personally I like it, but each to their own. What would you consider melodic metal as such?

Well, it's not all thrash or death (there's only 2 death metal bands on there btw). If you had bothered to download it you might have found that, Therapy?, Volbeat, Alchemist, Skindred and Aghora (and maybe Kiuas) were more down your own street.
But it's made to Morb's tastes, so.

Most of those songs are already on youtube I think, I'd make a playlist but lately all my playlists on jewtube have been giving errors. I don't know what the fuck they're doing with their site.

Awesome, I'm saving that.
I've listened to the first half of those, that Hail of Bullets reminds me of Gorguts (haven't listened to them in a long time). Diablo isn't bad, they sound kinda like Metallica (in a good way).
I really dig Alchemist, they have a good sound. Kinda like Prong but with a more trippy style.

That's a good mix of music you got there, Fza. I thought Volbeat and Skindred were particularly interesting. Thanks again for the tunes.
One of my favorites that not too many people may have heard:

Re: Fza presents, "Morbs Metal Madness", a zoklet compilation vol. I
I'll check that later, youtube doesn't work here.
Skindred, Reggea Metal! You might know "Dub War", which is the band most of them were in originally in, moderately famous in the '90s (atleast in Europe). Volbeat is just fucking awesome, you should check out their first 2 albums.
Didn't dig the Testament song? The last albums of Testament (The Formation of Damnation) and Bolt Thrower (Those Once Loyal) are worth it to check out.

Actually, I haven't liked Testament's new stuff too much (I dunno what it is, they seem like they're overreaching and getting too clever and polished for their own good. They just don't play the good old crunchy headbanging stuff they used to). Bolt Thrower is always good.

Oh snap, I didn't know they were still cranking it out. Gotta hear that.
Exodus fucking rules. They're one of the few bands that can keep getting more elaborate and still make it sound even better.

Those guys are an aquired taste. I swear some of their stuff sounds more like classical music than death metal, the way it ebbs and swells... and the vocalist, who sounds like he's trying to gargle a Buick at the same time he's vomiting, is somehow perfect for it. Demilich I think is one of the truly great, under-appreciated bands.
You can tell they love the clash of the cymbals, the thud of the drums, the unearthly screams of the guitars, the thrumming engine of the bass... that's the kind of stuff I like. I usually like songs with a catchy tune, but Demilich is one of the few who can pull off the aimless stuff with expert flair.

Just thought I'd drop in to point out that you people should learn to listen to Bolt Thrower, but as you apparently already know how to do that, I won't get in your way.
...And The IVth Crusade is pretty good too!
I mean, it's got "Where Next To Conquer", "This Time It's War" and "Through The Ages"...
And where the crap did my Warmaster album go?

Check out Hail of Bullets if you like Bolt Thrower. Band was started by Martin van Drunen (ex- Asphyx, Bolt Thrower, Pestilence) and Ed Warby (ex- Gorefest, Elegy).
