She's not really my sister, I'll be honest. I have known her since she was 2 years old, so 17 years. She grew up 4 houses away and I was always over there hanging out with her brother. She acts like my sister though, thus the title.

Anyway, she got really drunk a little while back and let it slip she lost her virginity at 12. That fucking blew my mind, wtf was I doing at 12.

What age do girls normally lose their virginity?

I'm really curious since everyone I knew lost it at 15 or 16 not 12

I was 14 - which I still see as young, but for us it was the right age (at the time)

12 - I still think of climbing trees and stuff? When you're twentysomething, two years doesn't seem to make much of a difference, but every MONTH made a difference at that age. I'd say that was very young.

I would guess the average age would be 15.

But yeah, shit happens. Some people that age are more mature, most act like they are more mature, and so they do stupid shit.

Just because virginity is not something you can get back, does not mean it's some magical thing that changes who you are. Although as I'm sure others would agree, it's better to lose it to someone you actually won't feel disgusted with months later, rather than one of those people.....

I lost mine when I was 17. I'm still with the same girl and couldn't be happier with my choice.

I'm happy to have lost it to someone that I love and care about later than most people rather than as a naive younger teenager to someone I probably wouldn't have cared about and would have regretted sleeping with.
