Default what would you do if you were a fugitive?

What would you do if you were a fugitive? You were being charged with things that you refused to be punished for and didn't go to court. You live on the east coast, and all you have is clothes, a handgun and $8000?

what would you do? where would you go? and how would you go about it?

travel to the west coast, to somewhere I've never been before. Hitchhiking maybe, or buy a cheap car. Change my name, find a job. Try to find some shady people to help me obtain ID.

how would you buy the car? you will need insurance because you don't want to risk getting pulled over for something stupid.

also the statute of limitations for almost everything is 7 years. but it always says years spent not a resident of the state you are charged in do not count. so what does being a resident mean? you would want to make sure you were a resident before you left.

EDIT: you dont think it would be smart to get a bus ticket to either somewhere southwest or north and just pay someone to take you to canada or mexico?

^^hell rural anywhere would be good.

yea good point about the car. Bus would definitely be the way to go.
I don't want to leave the country, just cuz. plus crossing the border might be risky.

I assumed that this was for life, not just a few years waiting for the statutes of limitations to run out.

Statute of limitation refers to the time in which the authorities are allowed to CHARGE you for a crime (known as filing the complaint). Once there is a warrant, warrants are unlimited in time decay and never expire. The warrant is simply a process that comes from them filing the complaint.

Generally a misdemeanor is one or two years, felonies vary per state. Regardless though, if theres a warrant out, its there forever till its taken care of.

Once you are charged the statute of limitations no longer applies.

Bus to Canada.

Edit: If it were me I would go to my contacts in Oregan, stay there for a while until I could get to my other contacts in Carolina. I live in Canada so yeah. Oh, do not take a direct route to where you are going, if you do, you could be tracked.

if you plan on going to Canada, cross at smaller boarder crossings, like Vermont-Quebec. or up through North Dakota.

If you can make it to Washington state, go up to Canada via Osoyoos, BC.
then head to where ever you like.

shack up with a random naive girl and lay low.
