over facebook. Clear threats of violence, to be exact. Some guy who claims to be my girlfriend's cousin, but she has never heard of him before. Now I am by no means a small guy or an unskilled fighter(bjj+ a little MT) but I don't want this to reach that level. I took screenshots of the incident, what should I do with this? I don't want to go to the cops, that would be a lot of trouble for me and frankly I don't have the time for that between work and university, so I would be interested in a less-than-conventional means of revenge (wink wink) if you know what I mean.

You should call the cops. Give them the evidence, and have him charged. The legal fees that he incurs alone will be a huge pain in the ass for him, and probably be financially crippling. That, and he will probably end up serving some time or at least be put on probation.

I know talking to the cops and possibly spending some time in a court room seems like a pain in the ass, but trust me, its a lot more of a pain in the ass for him, and doesn't leave you open to legal issues that other forms of retaliation might cause.

My advice would be to work it out as peacefully as possible unless you can handle the guilt of committing muder years down the road.

Ask yourself, are you really going to die? Yes of course but is he going to be the one that is going to end it?

Sometimes involving the police may be a good thing if you think it will really help, but take a look into the future as I see nothing more than a catch22.

Lets say he gets locked up and does some time... Do you think that he will just forget you when he is away? Do you not think you, your family, your friends, and everyone you have ever looked at is going to die? Because I can tell you from personal experience motivation is power in itself.

On the otherhand, if you choose to just ignore the situation, wont he just kill you anyway later down the road or will he forget and claim it as a lost cause? Some people have no interest in monetary gain even if they say they do as they only like to see people die.

But the truth is, even if you are successful in sending the person away for life, you will still surely die as most assasination orders come from inside the prisons anyway. So if inmates can have access to a payphone, or a visitor, or even a lawyer, you can be well to make the correct assumption that you will surely die whether or not you think your wrongful act deserves it.

Some people spend the rest of their lives living in regret and this is not something you want to live with.

My advice is to solve it peacefully and quickly or man the fuck up and put two bullets in the niggas head.

What you should do is file a civil suit at your local precinct (claiming libel). Once armed with the civil suit you should subpoena facebook for his IP address. Subpoena his ISP for the for the name/address matching that IP address.

Just to be clear none of these apply to my gym. It takes an average of 2 years just to reach the first belt. No katas of course(this ain't Karate), and I don't even think its possible to have a bjj gym without full contact rolling. As for the money I pay like $60 a month for unlimited gym use.

Though I will concede that if hand-to-hand combat was an effective method of fighting on a large scale we would never have invented weapons.
