Default Home Built small Incinerator

I wish to build a small incinerator.

What I want from the incinerator:
-Dimensions around 5''x7'' with a depth/height of 6'' (VERY SMALL!)
-Easy and FAST to fire up, perhaps with an electrical switch.
-Fuel needs to be self contained.
-Only needs to be used once time.
-needs to destroy contents

What I don't want:
-A huge oil drum in my house.
-A pile of bricks on top of concrete in my basement

Overall Idea:
Perpetrator(s) enter the house at night. I have about 15 seconds to wake up and destroy sensitive documents. Instead of trying to eat the documents I methodically turn on the small incinerator sitting on my desk thus preserving national security.

Any ideas or experiences on this topic are greatly appreciated.

You sound like a 13 year old kidiot who printed out the anarchist's cookbook and is now scared of the FBI.

you made me laugh.

A small forge seems like a good concept...if I had advanced knowledge of the incoming trespasser, that way I could prepare the coals several hours a head of time.

Maybe I should be asking these questions in the pyro section.

99% of forges use propane you dumbshit.

With a turn of the handle and a push of a button, it will incinerate pretty mcuh anything and get steel red hot within 3 minutes

edit: you can literally make on like that ^ with a coffee can and some insulation

An oxygen tank will greatly increase burn speed, as will a vortex to blow the papers around and increase the surface area. I suggest a cylinder about the shape of an oil drum, scaled to whatever size you want. It will be fuelled by both propane/acetylene and oxygen, with an oxygen rich mixture to encourage combustion of the papers. Place the gas inlets tangental to the cylinder to create a vortex. A metal stirrer will help the vortex push the papers around.

Be sure to insulate the chamber so you don't burn your house down.

Use flash paper for your docs

or

Get a fire retardent safe and remove the door
Place the safe on its back
Place a gas hot plate inside
Use a quick opening ball valve between the the Hot plate and gas supply
Place a fire accelerant (naptha lighter fluid) next to the safe
Place docs over the hot plate
When need arises dump Accelerant on docs light match and open valve

Why not just shoot the asshole who's breaking into your house instead of destroying your own stuff?

store all the documents in a Blendtec® Total Blender with a small glass vial filled with acetone to dissolve ink.

If Uncle Sam pays an unexpected house visit, just fire it up.

...in the state I'm in shooting the perpetrator would probably have me facing battery charges and perhaps man slaughter (if the wound is fatal). If the police were the trespassers I'd definitely go to prison.

Haha, I like this idea. To bad these "documents" might be laminated...

A blendtec total blender will fuck up laminated paper like its regular paper. Just get a shredder, and shred them. Or dig a hole, pour gas, ignite for a few minutes, then bury. Does this have to be at an exact moment?

lamination may also protect the documents from burning, unless you can guarantee it would be super hot, and if thats the case, firing it indoors is a bad idea.

seriously though, a Blendtec® Total Blender can even blend CZ diamonds.

Fuckin Blendtec® Total Blender. I might have to go this route then. The fire in the building does trouble me. From what I read thermite burns sufficiently hot so I would guess burning through the laminate would not be a problem.

Thanks for the video!

EDIT:
Here's another one of their videos of where credit cards are being blended, which is essentially what need to be destroyed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z1qix6W8Gs

However the timer on the blender indicates it might take 30seconds to grind the cards to bit...kind of a long time. Mixing some acetone like mentioned earlier would help also I think. Like a small plastic bag of acetone at the bottom to be released upon blending.

Any Ideas on speeding up the blending process? Also I think the blender in the video is $1000. I'd pay $500 for the other models, but $1000 is a bit out of my price range. Especially if the incinerator would only cost me a MAX of $350...and probably way less than that

Side note: The Blendtech Total Blender looks like it would shred aluminum foil (or cans) into fine powder for the thermite. But would the aluminum combusted while being shredded?

Water and a home-made blender to thrash the documents around in the water. I think fire would be inappropriate since it is generally unsafe and very difficult to maintain; very easy to fuck up and burn yourself/your house down. Using water, or possibly other chemicals to destroy the documents to a pulp could possibly protect your security if all you're really destroying is paper.

If I were in your shoes, I'd use encryption and digitize everything. A ADF scanner isn't too expensive relative to the security risk you speak of. Plus, a digital device containing 2500 documents is much easier to destroy than 2500 physical documents themselves.

EDIT:
OH shit, didn't read any posts before me; I didn't mean to plagarize.

Use a blender with PVC solvents. It should turn your fake ID collection into a lump of solid grey plastic.

If you still want to use fire, fill the blender with an oxidizer and aluminum foil. This will create flash powder once it starts blending, and will probably autoignite. If you want to ensure ignition, toss in a couple ferrocerium mischmetal lighter "flints".

Mount the blender inside a safe, and you can guarantee at least a few minutes of blend time before the cops can get in. Use a battery backed power supply if you're really worried.
