drifting is for Asians, you don't wanna be an Asian do you?
Buy a car an go to the track.
I could type 100,000 words on drifting, thats about a 15min lesson at a track.
it's like learning kungfoo, all the reading in the world ain't shit.
ya just gotta get out and do it.

Re: "Drifting" Guide?
The only dirftsing stuff you need to know is how to get out of understeer, oversteer, when to use snap oversteer, and how to handbrake turn. Everything else is just showing off by controlling opposite lock.

Re: "Drifting" Guide?
Hint: Get a RWD car with a bit of power, wait for it to rain or snow, and go to a deserted, wide parking lot at night. Or go find empty gravel logging roads. Practice. Try not to crash.

This, by doing it in the rain you increase the longevity of your tyres by shitloads.
Also, speed is not the key, 45/55km should be sufficient. I recommend the Scandinavian flick. Handbreakies wreck you handbreak-or atleast it did for me

Re: "Drifting" Guide?
If you have to ask for a guide, then you shouldn't do it at all.

This.
I love drifting everything in the winter time. It takes a little getting used to but it's not that hard. Really, the best advice is just to go do it.
Hell, when I did my Driver's Ed. course the instructor brought me to an empty parking lot and told me to start doing laps. Then he just pulled the E-brake and told me we were doing "skid control". After a few hours of that, I had it down and started just drifting through my whole neighbourhood.
I miss winter now

No, the car isn't JDM enough for that. I'd need to get a high-rise spoiler and a resonator in place of the muffler if I wanted to be JDM enough to Tokyo drift. And add several vee-taks.
Plus, open diff

Re: "Drifting" Guide?
It's only a urban myth that drifting fucks up your tyres. It gets them hot, and when they're hot they grip better, hence last longer. Haven't you ever seen the racing slicks in F1 racing being blowtorched and wondered why? That's why.
Drifting / burnouts on cold tyres before you do your daily driving is shown to lead to up to 30% prolonged tyre use overall.

Seen skid marks on the ground ever? They happen during drifts and burnouts and so on.
They are the rubber from tyres that have slid over the road.
I.e. the road is like sand paper sanding down your tyres as you drift/burnout/whatever.
PS: I heard that the actual mechanic of this action was that when the tread heats up enough, the outermost layer of rubber bonds to the road surface stronger than it bonds to the tyre itself, thus it tears off the tyre and bonds to the surface. That's why you can't just brush loose bits of tyre off a skid mark - it's actually bonded on there.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner.
With a heavy car that has a decent motor, a set of tires will last through about 4 or 5 minutes of drifting..
