The only comic I read as a kid was 8-Bit-Theatre.

Superheroes are pretty cool though. Anything that builds up it's own universe like that with rules, history, war, politics and intrigue spanning thousands of volumes and hundreds of characters is cool in my book.

Aside from watching Batman and Superman cartoons on TV and having a few t-shirts of them and the X-Men, I actually never really got into the superhero thing. I loved the ninja turtles and G.I. Joe, but those who heroes of a bit of a different breed IMO. I never even owned any comic books until I was an adult, and I still don't really get into the Marvel or DC heroes.

No, I wasn't and nor was pretty much anybody I knew when I was growing up. At the very least, I didn't know anybody (up until like 13/14) who was an enthusiast, or even known to be interested in such things.

Watched some Batman cartoons now and again, that's about it. Could depend on how liberal you are with 'super heroes' though, I was big into the Buffyverse as a kid.
