Ever try to finish off a good dream when you wake up?
I was in Iraq chasing insurgents who captured one of ours into a building. Then I woke up in front of the building and didnt get to kill more people and save the day. I tried finishing the dream off lying there in bed but it wasnt the same.

Re: Ever try to finish off a good dream when you wake up?
you know, young children can actually choose a dream to an extent.
for example, when i was young i had a killer dream (probably beat down hookers for drug money or something lul). but anyway, i woke up before i finished the dream... when i went back to sleep it continued right where i left off. only i was self aware now and had choices i could take in it (rather than the usual 'wtf twist' they always have).
I kind of kept this experience to myself coz there was no point talking about it, it just happened and i felt it was completely natural afterall, until years later when i heard a theory that children can do this and it sparked my memory of how cool it is.
alas now i cant and it makes me sad
i have video games zapping away my minds freedom .....

Anyone can train themselves to do that. Look up lucid dreaming.

I love how those epic dreams usually end with a twist.

Re: Ever try to finish off a good dream when you wake up?
Yeah, I've done that before, once I dreamt I was in a fight with some dude in a super market.
I'd gotten him knocked to the ground and sat on him pounding his face, and for some reason he decided the best way to stop me would be to push his thumbs into my kidneys from behind.
It hurt so bad I woke up, but could still feel the pain, although it was slowly decreasing.
So I shut my eyes, and imagined the super market, the tiles on the floor, his bloodied face, the shelves around me, and I got back in the dream.
the third time I woke up I couldn't get back in, and each time I woke up the pain disappeared a bit faster than the last time.
Strange...

Re: Ever try to finish off a good dream when you wake up?
Just the other night I dreamt I was staying in some rich family's mansion while they were gone. Anyway, I tried searching for their daughters' panties but I woke up before reaching my goal. Went back to sleep in hopes of fulfilling my destiny but ended up getting chased by dinosaurs.

Re: Ever try to finish off a good dream when you wake up?
I ALWAYS do this. Except it never plays out the same ie: ill be real close to killing someone and wake up, then go back to sleep and they escape

Oh, I was pretty plastered when I posted that, so I guess I misunderstood what you said...
I just thought it was funny I could feel real physical pain, from something psychological, so I played around with it for as long as I could.
And the dream was over anyway, I had won the brawl...

Re: Ever try to finish off a good dream when you wake up?
Yes, I'll often be woke up by my alarm clock in the middle of a great dream and intentionally put it on snooze just to finish it off.
