Default Art movies

I'm looking for some good art movies. Movies where the emphasis isn't put on special effects or action, but more on the characters, plot line and the way it's shot.
Some examples:

Die welle: just a great story, also great acting

Half Nelson: Again, no flashy stuff, just a great story and great acting. Also in this movie, imo, it's remarcable how well you can get into the movie because of how it's filmed. Sometimes the camera is so bright and moving all around that you just feel what the actor is feeling.

Lola Rent: Again, great story.

What I'd mostly like is movies where the camerawork is great. Any suggestions?

The movie Stay is good for that. The editing is amazing, the way they go from scene to scene. Give it a go and you'll see what I mean. It got pretty bad reviews but I loved it. Definitely worth watching.
Its the kind of movie where the first time you watch it, you'll wonder whats going on. Then by the end, you'll figure it out and watch it again. The second time you'll be picking up on all the little hints throughout that hint at the ending.

"Woman in the Dunes" by Hiroshi Teshigahara. Very hypnotic film, and enjoyable enough, though it put me to sleep. Not in a boring way, but in a "This is a silver watch on a chain, see how it shines in the light, so shiny, see how the light flickers on the watch, see how the sand blows in the wind, see the woman's skin that captures his eye, so on." Very artsy.

Powaqqasti is a fantastic film for music scores & shots, however it has no script actors or plot in, so be prepared for a long voiceless watch, however some of the shots/images make it worth watching the whole thing.

"Down By law" by Jim Jarmusch is good. Actually a lot of his films are good. They have great characters, good plots are are shot well.

SHould check him out if you haven't already.

If you've got a genre you'd like I've got plenty more suggestions. Character/Plot-driven is pretty broad.

While they probably aren't the kind of movies the OP was thinking of when they posted this, there happens to be some awesome ones in the Dramatic section of the Newgrounds flash movies site. The Composer is one of my favorites.
