Default Would using a proxy after your connected through TOR apply more protection?

I'm just curious, if I used a site like www.proxy4free.com and using TOR hide and add another small layer of protection? Or would using one of those proxies simply defeat using TOR?

Thanks for any helpful responses! They are much appreciated.

It would in theory increase your level of security by 1/8 because you're already behind 8 proxies (although tor does a little more than just route traffic). In reality there is no benefit since it's damn hard to pierce a single proxy and impossible to pierce to a tor entry node. The only difference that an additional proxy would make is to slow down an already painfully slow transfer rate.

Ok, I googled it, all I can see are jamming attacks, nothing that would actually compromise the anonymity of tor users, care to give a link?

Perhaps it may be possible to use tor through tor? Doesn't seem like anyone has tried that before. Maybe I will at some point, out of curiosity. I'm sure that could put a damper on attacks, although I'm sure the connection would be hell slow.

The proxy wouldn't do much to help you unless it's a totally encrypted connection. I usually use https as much as I can the few times I've needed to use tor.

Also, I'm pretty sure that tor is safe when you're browsing hidden sites, since everything is encrypted the whole way. I think it's when you're using tor to browse the regular internet that things become insecure. I could be wrong though, but I haven't found any indication inferring otherwise.

Both articles cover an attack that is only effective against people using certain bittorrent clients. As the articles say, it's not a failing of tor, it's that the clients disseminate your IP and use random identifiable ports. It would take a good chunk of luck or time to make any of the three attacks work, likely more than would be practical for anyone else than the most determined attackers. What's more is that people putting bittorrent over tor deserve what they get, bittorrent is a major factor in what causes tor's extreme slowness, I remember the days when tor worked as better than dial-up speeds (which is saying a lot considering 25% of requests return timeouts today).

Using a proxy after Tor would do absolutely nothing in terms of keeping you safe. Especially if someone is end-node sniffing. Like someone said, https through tor is a hell of a lot better.

To answer your question, yes, it'd add a layer of security. However, Tor is not for hacking/carding/scamming/etc. Get some real proxies and just use proxychains if you want to do that.

Yah, you're safe as long as you're behind seven proxies, dawg.
