They've already made a third one as a cell phone game. They'll be porting it to PSP soon.

Funny, I was just thinking of the week a few days ago. Played it years ago, back in 1998.

Actually, I was stumbling around on youtube and found a Japanese movie, based on the same novel the book is based on. The movie is from 1996 and hilariously bad, but was still entertaining to watch. The youtube comments made up for the shitty quality, lol.

I think the game was supposed to be loosely based on the movie. I've seen it a few times and you are right, it is bad.

The book, 'Parasito Ivo' was okay though. The game is amazing. It was never officially released here but I managed to get a copy and I really loved it. I hope the cellphone game does well and reinvokes interest in the series. Maybe then Squenix will make a proper third one.

The games makes a reference to the movie, "the incident that happened in Japan a few years ago".

I think the Japanese scientist was supposed to have come to NYC because of what happened in the book.

The weirdest thing is that I cannot for the life of me remember anything about the second game. I remember there was some stupid robot-like monster in the beginning in some kind of a tower, then there was some desert part, and then some kind of tropical forest? But I have no idea what it was actually about.

The first one I remember perfectly, though. How strange.

It didn't really have much to do with the first one.. It was fun but it shamelessly ripped off Die Hard and Resident Evil.

It was about Artificial Neo-Michondrion Creatures being created in an abandoned shelter. It even ripped off Universial Soldier towards the end when those Golem soldiers attack you. I'm pretty sure the desert part was a rip off of something too.

It was way fun though. Not many games let you start with an M4A1 rifle.
