Boardwalk Empire - What did you think of the first episode?
It didn't really suck me in, but I suppose it was really just an introduction to the characters. I'm not really sure if Steve Buscemi can really pull of being a mob boss, he just looks too frail to be threatening. Hopefully he will get really violent later on in the season and we'll see why he runs shit.

I feel the same way about the episode; too much character stuff to really form an opinion on the whole series already. However, I think Buscemi is pretty promising.

Yeah shame he's only directing the pilot. As far as I know he's over seeing the whole season so hopefully he keeps things on the straight and narrow.

i LOVE this show, two of my favorite actors (buscemi and pitt) in what i find to be a really interesting time period in american history. And it has violence, humor, and sex. The way they intermingle scenes is cool, too, like at the end of the first episode where you have the comedian telling jokes during all those murders. Perfect.
There were a lot of character introductions, though, and it could at times be kind of too obvious. just so the simple-minded can follow along. And why is michael pitt always chewing gum, in every scene all the time? But its still great.

Are people still watching this show? I sure am. 2nd Season Finale was last night. In my opinion, the 2nd season was better than the first. Hopefully people are still watching!

I fell asleep through the first episode half a dozen times. When I finally managed to finish it I was hooked. Like most HBO series it starts off rather slow and the action doesn't really start until we begin to know the characters.
