Winnipeg -> Toronto
You guys know of the cheapest way to go about this? I've been looking into ride shares on Kijiji, Greyhound charges $250 round-trip (advanced). I also cannot go on a airplane.
Anyone looked into cross Canada trips lately that can throw some advice up for me?

Re: Winnipeg -> Toronto

Re: Winnipeg -> Toronto
for about 450$ i believe you can get a greyhound international ticket, which gives you unlimited travel to united states and canada for 60 days.

Re: Winnipeg -> Toronto
VIA has great special deals. Their regular fares can be brutal, but their deals are completely solid.

How can they even justify making a profit off that price?
Oh, I see.
You probably gotta pay 3x that to come back, unless you wait a whole week till the next Thursday.
Still, less than $100, amazing!

Re: Winnipeg -> Toronto
I don't think they can't justify a profit at all, but it beats the hell out of an empty seat.
Plus, it can be great advertising. Not that many people take Via anymore and some positive word of mouth can be great for them. I've only taken Via once, but it was a good experience. Have you taken the train before?

I've taken a train across the city, or from small town to a small town .(illegally)
What part of Canada are you from?

Re: Winnipeg -> Toronto
Last summer I drove from Winnipeg to Calgary - about 16 hours give or take, each way. Also drove from Winnipeg to Montreal, about 20 hours give or take.
As far as I know, Toronto is only another two hour's drive from Montreal. With a fairly economic car, the gas shouldn't cost too much. Especially if you aren't traveling alone.

Re: Winnipeg -> Toronto
Holy shit, another 'pegger on &Z?
You're the only one I know from the same city as me.
I don't really want/can't drive for the next couple months. (dui)
I did a straight drive from Gimli all the way to Fort Mac, AB.(through the narrows, battleford, cold lake) That was about 16 hours or so too, so the driving distance isn't an issue.
Thanks for the advice!

Winnipeg? Just go any direction and don't stop driving until you stop seeing gasoline huffing natives. Sorry, that was rude .
