Default 1995 Ford XT150 Improvements

....Yes its kinda broad its a nice two tone color with a pin strip. I was wondering a few things rather then going out and getting an estimate.
  1. How much does it cost to repaint it? (Two tones)
  2. Assuming a friend has some of the equipment/most of the equimpent whats the price?
  3. I need to replace both side view mirrors....$$$?
  4. A DECENT truckbed covering for it would be? and how much?

1. Anywhere from $cheap to $expensive. Really though, it all depends on how much you are willing to pay. Some places will charge $200 for a 'blowover', the colour under the engine bay/under interior fittings will be original and the paint finish will be pretty poor (worse than factory). You could go the other way and spend $20,000 and get the finest paint finish known to man. Go around and get some quotes and work from there, I'd expect to pay at least $2000 for a full colour change with good quality workmanship and high quality paints.

2. Most of the cost of painting is labour, so unless he's willing to throw that in for free, it won't make much of a difference. You could always lower your bill by doing prep work, sanding and masking yourself. Then it would only really be the cost of the paint and running the paint booth for a couple of hours, which would be a lot less than a total job would cost.

3. New, I dunno, maybe $50 each? Go to a scrapyard and get used ones for $5 each, you can get them painted to match when you do the repaint.

4. Dunno. Sorry.

Why do you want it repainting anyway?

3 generations of males have owned this truck....its got some war scars

4 massive scrapes in the back right from a parking garage (grandpa)
1 big dent and 2 small scraps on the middle left (dad)
1 tiny scrape and 1 small small dint on the door (me)

Thats why I want it repainted, and the guy i know its pretti much willing to do it for free, hes a good good friend and its more of ahobby for him....iam just nervous about quality....and next year iam switching the seals and I desperatly need that truck bed for moving furniture and flooring

1. As everyone has said it depends on the finish. Factory/better...I'd say around $400 in paints and supplies. If you got with rattle cans, it can look decent, and can be done for around $100. If you know someone who can spray though, got the spray route. $400 will buy you a damn good paint job, and with proper paint detail and prep work can look spectacular compared to factory.

2. Same as above. If he has a good booth that can handle two-part poly paint, then around $400 for really good stuff (don't cheap out, because a shit poly job just doesn't look good at all and is really hard to fix/remove).

3. Side view mirrors will run you around $20-40 from a scrap yard.

$80 new for a pair?

4. $50 - $60 for carpet and around $80-100 for rubber. Don't spray. Spray liners look horrible and kill resale value super fast...
