simple indica question
Well hello there,
I was wondering lastnight, whats the real difference in CBD content between indica plants and sativas?? Also i was wondering why everyone always says indicas are "couchlock" types when it REALLY dosent get that couchlock feeling until they are super mature and light brown(for the thc to convert to cbd)......
Indicas to me just seem like a short bushy high yeilding convert operations type of thing, or am i wrong??
I want that heroin type of high without waiting for the brown.
Am I shit out of luck?
Thanks
-germs from cali

Re: simple indica question
honestly, the fact that both indica vs sativa and the color of the trichromes at harvest both use EXACTLY the same description: (couchlock vs head high)
I've always felt the whole thing was bullshit.
At this point you're most likely never going to see a purebred of either, everything's hybridized. Each strains a little different.

Re: simple indica question
It doesn't matter where you live you probably wont get a purebred Indica or Sativa.
Indica is also refered to "Afghani" or basically the cannabis that originated in Afghanistan.
Weed that originated from the rest of the world (India...etc) are all Sativa's. Almost all the pot they smoked back in the 70's was sativa. It wasn't until someone went to Afghanistan and started cross-breeding them with Sativas that they became mainstream.

Re: simple indica question
funny, a quick google for green crack genetics doesn't reveal anything like that.
and then there's the seeds:
http://www.canadianhempco.com/index....oducts_id=1284
which have a completely different lineage from any of the other hits.
Don't trust brand names.

Re: simple indica question
The issue is that there's 0 oversite, no central genetic databank, essentially there's no way for anyone, ever to prove anything about the genetic characteristics of a stain, unless they bred it.
All you've really got to go on is how she looked and acted during growth.

Re: simple indica question
I can imagine Green Crack being pure sativa though I've never smoked it. Anything with indica in it isn't addictive to me. Great maybe, but not addictive the way pure sativas are.
My friend grew this weird nameless strain once, really exotic looking, with thin buds that you could just put in a rolling paper without even breaking them up and smoke them like that.
It was fast growing and maturing, but even when the hairs were still mostly white, and most of the trichomes still milky or clear, and I smoked some, holy shit it was powerful. Made me pass out a couple minutes after smoking it, nearly every time. I've smoked weed from everywhere, I've smoked some amazingly potent weed but nothing else ever made me pass out this easily. It was hard to get a tolerance to it. Smelled like paint to me, other people said it smelled like lemon pledge(ive never smelled lemon pledge). It was a very nice stone aside from making you pass out soon after smoking it.
The smell was addictive, like sniffing paint without the bad side effects of actually sniffing paint.

Re: simple indica question
Yeah, If you harvest a mostly sativa plant when you have a high percentage of amber trichromes the effects will be more stoney, heavy, and sedating than when you harvest at a lower amber percentage (<30%), which would give you a more energetic, heady-high. BUT that heavy stoney high from over matured sativa will never be as heavy, sedating, or couch-lockey than an indica with a decent percentage of amber trichromes. Even non overly-matured indica can be more stoney than high % amber sativas. Both indica and sativa have a sliding scale, but indica leans more towards a "stone" while sativas lean towards a "high"... If you get what I mean.
It is said that a higher CBD percentage (and ratio to THC) is what takes the high from a heady cerebral high to a sedating body stone. This is why you will see indicas having a higher ratio of CBD to THC while sativas will have a higher ratio of THC to CBD.
