Has anyone else noticed this? its some stupid banner on wikipedia with a picture of the founder smirking and a text "Please read, a personal appeal from wikipedia founder jimmy wales".

What a load of horse shit. Why do i care about what the founder thinks? I dont. Oh, and when i click it its some letter trying to convince me to donate. Fuck that. Your gona put a banner on wikipedia convincing me to donate? well that makes me not want to.

So yeah that banner sucks dick.

Go fuck yourself. They do it every fucking year or something, last time they raised like 5 million or some shit and now they're begging for our money again.

I don't see why it would kill them to put a couple of small tasteful ads up, with the traffic they get they could easily pay for their costs. Being all high and mighty about having no ads kind of doesn't fly when you have to beg your users for money instead.
