Help Me: Torrented Fallout New Vegas...

...And I've mounted the .iso, replaced with a crack, I'm at the start screen ready to play, when I click play an error pops up. It says:

Steam Error
Application load error 5:0000065434

And it's really fucking annyoing because I just want to play the game.
I googled it, someone said it might be a registry problem. I dl'd Registry Mechanic, it's showing that the registry is clean, so that probably isn't the problem.

I'm guessing it's (obviously) something to do with Steam. I don't have Steam and don't really want it but I'll get it if I have to.

Does anybody know what is causing this? Anything specific I can do? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep I did it exactly that way, I just keep getting that error. Anyone else get this, and did you fix it?

Have you tried updating the directx version in you computer from the game data itself, or you could try to download and update it directly from the microsoft website. Have you also tried updating your video card driver to the latest? You can also try to replace the file by downloading the XINPUT1_3.dll file and overwriting it in the Steam folder.

Make sure Steam isn't running in the background.

Yes.
