Help from Aussie gun-owners....

I want a gun.

How do I get one? Where can people buy guns? What legal regulations are there for dealers and users?* What guns can be bought in Australia? Where do most people keep their guns?

I don't know if gun law is a state matter or a federal one, but if it's the former, I'm located in Victoria.

I'll end up finding all this out for myself, but it would be nice to get some easy answers and an idea as to where I should begin....
