Picking a US Postal Mailbox

How hard is it to pick one of these boxes? I'm talking about the kind that sit at apartment complexes in large groups.

Are they special locks?

Here in the UK, those boxes use wafer locks and are very easy to pick. To the best of my knowledge, in the US they tend to be lever locks. You should be able to tension the bolt with an appropriately shaped piece of wire and lift the levers with a standard hook, they only have 2 levers so it won't be hard going.

If you can get a picture of one of the locks you mean it'd really help, for all I know it could be anything.
