Stupid noob question... But say you buy an N50, N52 or N54 magnet... The ones with 100+ lbs of pull... How the fuck do you guys carry them without them flying around your bag/pocket and sticking to everything?

Ive got a couple of pretty good Neo's that I pulled out of an industrial tool for cleaning swarf (metal shavings) and the pair of them together require something jamming EXTREMELY hard in between them to part them.... They are about 1/2 the size of one of these beasts though.

Thanks

Anyway , the point of this story is that John is afraid to get caught with professional tools on him, because this would create more problems.

So I was wondering if maybe John can find a way to hide the detacher in a built-in detacher bag.Like an elegant leather bag , with double layer or a added inside poket , and only to put the bag next to the alarm in order to detach it .

Also in winter he can use a built in detacher coat , an elegant one , with the detacher attached inside it, covered by a thin layer of lining, over the detacher.

What do you think about this ideea?
Original thinking, I like

It shouldn't be too hard to do that...

You should watch out for metal tables, etc. There is no way to shield against magnetic fields, except by making distance between your magnet and the metal object.

Try not to get a magnet that is too big, so its easier to take off if your jacket gets stuck to a shopping cart

Hi everyone Im new to this site. Ive been reading almost all the threads for shoplifting and I thought I would give it a try I just purchased 4 n48 magnets 1/2 x 1/4 x 1/8 I was just wondering what kind of tags or security devices I could remove with it i found the polaraties and I am thinking of putting it in a 2x2 formation and putting electrical tape over it . Is this right? Also I bought a sensormatic hook tag of dh gate for only like 5 buck? Should I have bought the legit one. Thanks for taking the time to read a noobs first post. Lol

With those magnets you should be able to remove Alpha tags, pencil tags & supertag 1.

As for the hook, just try it out.

They can also unlock those little locks they put on the end of peg hooks. My friend unlocked one of those for the first time last week. He could have just cut the package though...

looking into buying the magnets. but i was stuck with these two:
http://www.magnet4sale.com/Neodymium...h-Magnets.html
and
http://www.magnet4sale.com/Neodymium...0178-50NM.html

the first mag has the poles on the two ends while the second one has the poles on the two long sides. Which ones should i get?

Also are the magnets on this site of any good quality? Thanks

I suggest buying 4 of these magnets. http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetai...84-N52&cat=168
Most people from Zoklet get theirs from there.

IMO, no. The magnet I bought from that site lost it's strength over time. Most swear by K&J Magnetics.

Yeah, Vinni's products are high quality. I never had any issues with my hook or detacher. I have purchased cheap magnets from other sources & those magnets lost their strength over time but my detacher is like new.

can a magic bag or some sort of foil lined bag or shoe box stop Acousto-magnetic tags? cuz sometimes clothing have it in weird places and some might be missed so if its placed in a box lined with couple layers of tin foil will it do the trick or is the magic bag something that is hit or miss?

For the mini spider wrap, I tried placing two separate neodymium magnets next to the button. I heard both "clicks" for each of the magnets placed. However, I couldn't open it. Hmm, I have no idea, if I am doing that correctly.

Hey all, noob question: Are the detachers bad to stick to nearby metal racks and make it obvious you have a magnet in your bag? My friend read a story about Shady's friend getting in that situation with some neodymium magnets, and ideally he would like to avoid that.

Also, my friend is thinking that if he ever gets asked why he has a hook on his lanyard/keychain, he'll just say it's to make his keys harder to pickpocket.

I'm not understand what this line means. "Are the detachers bad to stick to nearby metal racks and make it obvious you have a magnet in your bag?" Please clarify.

As for the situation with my friend, that happened b/c my friend leaned up right against a metal rack w/o realizing it & the magnet stuck to the rack through the bag. Now, she is very careful & observant about metal.

while other say this:
http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetai...X0-N52&cat=168
and this:
http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=RX8CC
Can someone just tell me a simple answer. what mag can open the tags. Shady, if u could make a list of all the mag that can do the job, it would make everyone life way easier. Thanks

Certainly. I was referring to the possibility of a superloc detacher that my friend might hide in a messenger bag sticking to a metal rack (while still inside the bag) if he stands too close to one. This would cause the bag to stick to the rack which would obviously reveal that he is hiding a strong magnet. But according to your friend's story, my friend would have to be very close to a rack for this to happen, so it should be easy to avoid. Sorry for the confusion

Yeah, you would have to be really close for it to stick through the bag to metal. My friend actually had leaned against the metal rack. She didn't even think about it till she realized the magnet stuck to the rack through the bag. You also have to watch in some stores, when they are stocking they push around metal carts. I know American Eagles does so you have to be careful to avoid anything metal.

I'm not a magnet expert. Also, these magnets are pricey. I don't have the cash lying around to purchase all kinds of magnets for experimenting. I really recommend just buying a detacher. All you really need is a detacher, S3 key, hook & a blade.

ShadyLady, you should add tape(as in clear tape, permanent circular tape rounds) to the list...used for sealing the box after box stuffing*

My friend just got a bunch of goods stuffing those boxes and sealing them up...
