Re: Who has ever managed to take a security tag off with a magnet?
^ 50% of the magnetic market.
The other is the Alpha detacher with the 4 magnets.
look in the tools thread.
I saw a video of a 4x2 magnet n52 round that you could use to detach ALL of the magnetic tags. It is very dangerous to even carry something of that strength around.

BULLSHIT. You clearly do not know how to use the search feature. There is PLENTY of info about what you are asking, you are just too stupid and/or lazy to look.

Are you retarded? In order to remove magnetic tags you need a big magnet- whether it be the superloc or something similar. And if you are interested in purchasing items because a detacher is too expensive, then you are shopping at the wrong stores.

For any new members that can't learn to search or read. You need 4 of these magnets to open the security devices on products.

Re: Does this Golf SuperLock Detacher FX7 set alarms off when you walk in nd out the
FUCK! AGAIN? Look you can ask these questions in the proper threads and they will get the same urgency as this thread gets... maybe even better priority since its done properly/.
The detacher itself will not set off the alarm... Lots of places across the world use a source tag in addition to the hard tag that is removed with the detacher.

Re: Shoplifting Tools of the Trade II
I am trying to do a little research on the InVue OM key. A few stores have higher end merchandise on peg shelves that use specifically the OM key side to unlock it. The link to it is here http://www.gateway-security.cl/wp-co..._Combo_Key.pdf and I am referring to the metalic piece sticking out of the side. Is it like a lock and key where a specific key is used to open a specific lock or is it another universal key? Yes I know Alpha and InVue are related and have the same s3 key.

Re: Shoplifting Tools of the Trade II
it looks like its a magnet and a universal lock...
there is the new IR keys they have too. Issue is they need to be programmed to the fixture and they can't work in other stores if they aren't programmed to the fixture before they are armed

On the first page, the homemade S3 key is covered in something. Does anyone know what that is?

Re: Shoplifting Tools of the Trade II
Has any left-handed person managed to use a vini hook?
My friend is left handed and hasn't been able to use it, even after looking at the tutorial. I told her to open it like a right-handed person would but she couldn't.
So will it be impossible for her to use the hook, or what?

Re: Shoplifting Tools of the Trade II
Anyone else have problems with their s3 key? I can't get mine to open shit! I've tried many keeper boxes and spider wraps and I can hear clicks inside when I'm moving it around but still can't get them to open! It seems like the magnets almost too weak... But it's a legit invue key

That's what I thought initially as I even linked her to a tutorial I found but she said she bought another one off someone on Craigslist and it works just fine, but it doesn't work with the tag that came with the one she ordered online. She did try removing the tag from a jacket she bought today, though (while she was in the dressing room), and I was at the store with her and it worked just fine (as she left with the jacket in her purse lol).
Maybe it was a problem with the original hook or tag. Either way it looks like she figured it out. Thank you SOOOO MUCH for your helpful advice!

Re: Shoplifting Tools of the Trade II
Regarding the following detachers:
http://www.ffr-dsi.com/detacher-micr...ip-and-lanyard
for boxes with the following mechanisms:
http://www.ffr-dsi.com/loss-preventi...h-active-alarm
DLS or 'Fortknox' detachers. I recently tried to open one with 2 x N52 magnets (the ones that I use for the alpha S3 keys) and no dice. So I arranged 4 of the same magnets in an arrangement like what you get on the actual detacher. After testing it yesterday I'm glad to say it worked!
However, the boxes I tried it on were not the exact same boxes that it I failed with last time. They look the same but it's possible that they are an older version requiring weaker magnets perhaps? So a 2nd test on the same boxes I failed with last time is is order. I'll do this tomorrow I think. Preliminary results are positive however.

Re: Shoplifting Tools of the Trade II
If anyone wants to try knock off tools they can be purchased from Aliexpress.com. The website is known for allowing shady vendors, but they also have legit ones too. There are seller ratings on the right hand side.
Anyways, the stuff on there is really cheap. Sensormatic hooks can be found for $4, Superloc's (search gold detacher or EAS detacher) for about $30 (weaker ones for a lot less) and Alpha s3 keys for around $10.

Re: Shoplifting Tools of the Trade II
So I was just wondering how much one of those 'base stations' would cost - the ones they have on the counter at shops? They've got an Alpha key, a fortknox (DLS) detacher, a superloc detacher as well as 2 other types of magnetic detacher that must be used for something but I don't know what!
They look like this:
What do we reckon folks?

Re: Shoplifting Tools of the Trade II
I have a question about the supertag magnets.
My friend went to get some jeans, and he found one he wanted, and took it into the dressing room.
He had some neodymium magnets put together because he thought it was a supertag 1. Well at first it didn't work. It sounded like the magnet was moving something around in the tag, so he kept trying, and with some force (rotating the pin like he was "unscrewing" it seemed to help, strangely enough, though that could just be in his head), actually a lot of force, he was able to get it off little by little. He didn't know much about the tags so he didn't notice if there was a hole for a hook in this tag.
His question is: since he was able to get it, does that mean it WAS a supertag 1? He's sure it was one of the supertags. It took a lot of force, BUT he thinks he didn't have quite enough magnets (only 6 fairly small cubes put together, and he might not have gotten the polarity right). Or was he just forcing a supertag 2/3? Is it possible to force them apart with your bare hands?

Since a certain company shafted my friend on payday and left her without a paycheck ,my friend went shopping and has done quiet well,
the shops she likes to buy at have two whole aisles that are quiet so she doesn't feel harassed
shopping is fun

It depends. The Superloc is hard to conceal if you've got small hands, but if you're only detaching tags in the dressing room, it doesn't really matter that much. A magnet might work better if you were trying to detach tags on the sales floor.
