The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 50.55 points higher, or 0.43%, at 11837.93, with Caterpillar and Boeing making up more than half of the measure's climb. You say that like it's a terrible thing. All it means is that we will have a currency that is domestically valuable which will mean it will be more expensive to import things. We aren't going to quit buying anything overnight, which will mean that the shortfall will be picked up by domestic manufacturing which will greatly improve the economy anyway.

Outstanding debt means absolutely nothing, only the ability to pay the interest and to show investors you have a robust enough economy to pay it off.

That logic would mean that you could never pay your car loan off. Economics, how does it work? The way you pay off a loan is to take the principle and make more profit than the interest. It can easily be done for the American public debt if we gave a shit about it.

And if you knew what you were talking about you would know that Argentina couldn't service its debt because its interest rates were very high and then it killed its economy by selling off its industrial base. It's money was overvalued, so it's real GDP to debt got a massive bump and then it killed its ability to service any further debt due to deindustrialization, which lead to even more inflation.
