English spelling question:
How do I spell whiskey? I spell it whiskey, like any normal person would, but this bottle says: whisky. Which feels wrong.
Did this booze company make a typo, or am I doing it wrong??

Re: English spelling question:
Its Whiskey, your right. With a bunch of drunk/foreign/cheap motherfuckers making labels these days you have to expect that.

Oh hai are you from Ammurica?
It's like check or cheque, color or colour...Depends on where it's from and who's saying it, ie: doesn't matter.

Re: English spelling question:
Whisky/whiskies is Scottish and tends to be favoured in the UK and Canada
Whiskey/whiskeys is Irish and tends to be favoured in the US
If a whisky is not from either Scotland/Ireland (or made by Scottish/Irish people), it tends to be named according to whether it intends to taste like a Scottish or Irish whisky/whiskey.
Source: I asked someone in a whisky shop.
I tend to write 'whisky' I suppose because as I mainly drink scottish whiskies, this is what I'm used to seeing on the bottle. There are more important things than the label, though, so I wouldn't worry about it. Whisky is a weird word if you write it enough times.

Re: English spelling question:
Ah yes, Americans, the eternal wannabe Irish.
For a country which slates Europe so much and say they love America and being American, theres a helluva lot of people claiming to be Irish.

Re: English spelling question:
And yes whiskey is Irish, whisky is Scottish
My source is my Scottish grandparents. Being Scottish, they love their whisky.

That's incredible! I asked someone in a music shop what the best guitar brand was and he said Ibanez.

Re: English spelling question:
No. Proper whisky is superior to whiskey.

And many who don't, claim to have a grandmother who was a Cherokee Indian princess.
