Need help cleaning my bong (pics)

Problem is I have an ice cube catcher that sits at right above the perk so I can't get anything in there (that I can think of anyways) to scrape the walls and get that shit off

You'd have to extend the handle or something though.

Probably an easier way is to put some kind of chemical in there and let it sit, don't know what you'd use and how safe that'd be though.

I don't think letting anything soak would do the trick here. The bong is glass, so no I can't remove anything.

The long piece is over 1 and a half feet long so I would need something better then that.

Edit: Also, the tricky thing is that I'm trying to clean the walls of the perk, So I need to have a correctly shaped brush that bends through the ice catcher and around the perk to hit the walls, could I bend that easily?

I used a lot of iso in my chambered bong, and it had had a thick smell for weeks... even after generously washing with soap and water...

how about soaking it in a 420 mixture.....dont use iso that makes rez sticky and almost imovable. Boiling some water and pouring it in while simultanously plugging any lower holes may work. You may need to soak that fucker for a week

This. Use hot water and let it soak in salt/alcohol mixture for multiple days, may take multiple flushes.

Add both, cover the top, and shake that bitch for 5 minutes. It will be like brand new.

I dunno. Fact is, iso alc and rock salt is the best way to clean a bong, if you can't get that to work, you're fucked. No amount of boiling water is going to beat an iso rock salt shake, so if he can't clean it with my method, he might as well just go get a new bong, or just keeping smoking the dirty one.

I'd try using 99% alc with rock salt and see if that works.

A bucket of water and a couple caps full of Mr Clean... Let it sit for a few weeks to a month and when you pull it out once the shit slides right out of it rinse it off with hot water.

If you have any stickers on the outside say goodbye to them and only do this with glass bongs and pies.

I'm not sure how different rock salt is from sea salt, I've never tried to clean a bong with sea salt. The rock salt I'm using is sold as coarse salt or some shit. If you're sea salt was composed of big chunks then it should be the same thing basically.



It should look like the shit on the far right.

How long did you shake it for btw? Normally it takes a good 5-10 minutes, which seems like a really long time while you're shaking it. 99% will work better.

I got the shit that is second from the right, but that should be enough. I also shook it for a good 10 mins as well and it just will not come off. Those bong cleaners you get from head shops, how do they differ from iso and salt?

i wouldnt recommend coarse salt, but only because it might block up your percolators. SO,

What i would do with your bizzy is:
1) boiling water - to rinse it first
This is simple chemistry, as the temperature of something rises, so does its tendency to both: dissolve in water, and change states (from solid to liquid to gas). Both these factors will cause your sticky resin residue to be easier to remove.

2) thin salt and iso - rinse and shake vigorously
Resin dissolves in alcohol, and the salt is an abrasive to scratch off resin on a smaller scale. Coarse salt is better for this purpose, but it might clog percs

3) repeat as desired

4) rinse vigorously with water

5) ????

6) smoke/PROFIT

Yeah thats a pretty sick piece you got there. I would recommend acetone, you can get it at any hardware store.

Same process as the rock salt and iso alc....yes rock salt works better because it is bigger and more course but my roor has no percs in it so there was nothing for it to clog. It isnt the greatest shit to breath in so make sure you have something covering your mouth like a dust guard or something.

Pour it in from the top and the down stem just to distribute it kinda evenely. Shake the SHIT out of this thing...when you think youre done and good enough, keep going. Just jerk the thing off for 15-20 minutes straight. Once youre done, youre apparently not supposed to pour it down the drain because its flammable so right outside works if you can. Rinse it out with water, shaking it again. Then pour some average dish soap in once again from top and down stem. Shake it all up and rinse until all the bubbles are gone. Let the bong dry out completely. Just make sure you dont smoke any left over acetone, itll probably kill you.

I always use kosher salt, iso alcohol, shake for a long time, hot water rinse afterward. My bong also has a percolator in it. It is the hardest spot on the bong to get clean, and sometimes I don't get everything, but it never remains as dirty as the perc in your picture.

I dunno man, I just don't know. Use a "friendlier" cleaning solvent, like Simple Green? And wash it out real good after?

That's comforting, haha. Yeah man I just did alcohol and salt again but shook it for a full simpsons episode. Came out clean enough for me to stop bitching about it for sure.

Agreed, all I have to do is rinse out the ash catcher after cleaning it with 99% iso and its all out. I have no idea why you would have a problem with this.
