First of all I worked there from summer of 01 till January of 09. I worked there doing commercial installs and service. Occasionally when a tech was on vacation or was sick I would do a couple of residential installs. Now when we were doing installs we were supposed to ask the property manager or whoever if they wanted a duress code. Most places did not really care much but the bigger stores would. Now there was never a default one but most owners would sometimes ask for it to be there code backwards. This has to be manually programmed though it does not come default. Now as for 2580 that code comes up when you program a duress code on honeywell/ademco systems. You really are supposed to change it but I guess there was a lot of lazy techs out there.
