I left this place to find stencilrevolution.com and that has a bunch of tight ass shit but I realized my home site has nothing posted on this site. Unless I'm rarely on and just troll when I am on. I spend a billion times moar on reddit than this stupid site where I have to search different forums to find something I like as opposed to just scrolling down to see what I want to click on.

It's not a question about room, but traffic. Visual Art ( As far as I know) doesn't get much traffic, a sub-forum would get less. Just post there, I don't see the problem.

I'd LOVE to have a stencil/graff forum...I've even tried to start SEVERAL threads on handstyle and shit in Visual Arts but nobody ever participated.

Get a thread going...I'll chime in. I'm a beginner at Graff and really wish I could get some influence from Zoklet...all the other graff forums are just guys telling you your shit sucks for one reason or another (seems to be the graff way).

Start a thread...I'll help out.

I'm not really into stencils right now as much as graff....I just want to get some of the classic shit down like handstyles and bubble letters...just so I always have something in my repritoire to throw up if the time calls.

I haven't been practicing as much lately but that's because when I practice I get the itch to go out and spray...and it's been cold as fuck and I need to keep a cap on my cans (it's a small town) for a bit longer.

I retardedly sprayed my first name about 4 feet high on the side of a garage maybe four blocks away from my house while drunk and on drugs a month or so ago. I'm probably going to try to tag a big pink and purple polka dot t-rex to cover it up in a day or two. If you want, i will have him vomiting your name.

Yeah you have to deny yourself the open credit. Personally I get much more satisfaction when I see someone taking a picture or gazing at it and going "wow"...while I'm standing right next to them and they have no idea it was me that gave them that feeling

Don't tell anyone...it takes half the fun out of it.

Also the "barely legible" part doesn't bother me...I paint my letters for myself and anyone who cares to stop and take a look. GOOD graffiti requires that you look at it for more than 2 seconds to figure out what it is...provokes thought...alters someone's path (by making them stop in their tracks to gaze).

I mean billboards are mad legible...fuck if my graffiti has to meet "legibility" standards.

I DO however go out and write my shit in a more legible fashion...so anyone who actually FOLLOWS the local graff would be able to match styles and figure out that the "SK" in that throw up is from the "SOCK" in the picture below (yeah I know SOCK and COCK but they're nice easy letters to practice with).

I also write out D.F.S. (the meaning) in a few spots too. You have to actually get your feet wet to understand my graff....but that's just how I like it.

ha! that's such a cock. lol. Yeah, i've done the stupidest shit tagging drunk and driving by it the next day I see someone taking pic's of it that I know they're a cop and waiting to catch the perpetrator so they can link all the old shit with the new.

Seriously though, check out that stencil revolt forum. It seems old and kinda dead but there's still a bunch of decent info there. I've been perusing it for the past day or so and it makes me wish I lived in a big city where a can of paint isn't so noticable over night.

Funny story: I tagged, "Cops want to make the world a better place. Vandals want to make the world a better looking place." Signed with my tag name. The next day when I was sober I remembered I used that same quote as the quote of the day a week back at work. Being broke I hit up a very pretty girl who had an extra can of paint she said I could have and she stopped by and gav it to me. She told me it might not work and sure enough, the tip was clogged full of paint and would not spray. I really wanted to clean up that tag so around 4 in the morning I walked to where it was with the can and a knife. My plan was to puncture a hole and as the paint was pouring out cover up my drunken/retarded-ness. I put the knife against the can and gave a little tap to the top of the knife. Luckily it didn't blow blue paint all over my face in an epic explosion but it did go, 'PFSHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!' that seemed loud as fuck in the dead of night. The tagging was on a fence and the fence faced a house and was just bouncing the sound back and forth so fucking loud. I almost just ran away but I needed to cover the tag so I made two huge arc with my arm, (The tag was maybe 6 or 7 feet wide, 2 feet thick), then ran away. The near full can of paint blew off in about 4 seconds.

I fully support the idea of a graffiti section and would contribute regularly. Visual Arts tends to be clogged with emo bullshit and "Love Craft <3" being a mod there doesn't help one bit. Besides, graf encompasses almost all forms of art and is a subject all on it's own, or rather, "art is not a graffiti form." Further more graf is subversive and awesome whereas most "art" these days just sucks. I feel that a graf section would not only give this place a breath of fresh air, but it would encourage lots of members to come out of their shell and put their otherwise hidden skills to the test. Most people aren't going to post their graf in Visual Arts to show off, we need an actual section that promotes this kind of discussion and encourages people to participate. Again, I fully support this idea and I see no reason why it shouldn't be done immediately. We have sub sections on this site for some of the dumbest most unnecessary stuff, at least this will actually be useful and fun.

What we need (and I hate to lump graff in with it) is a HIP-HOP forum....for breaking/DJs/Graff/rapping etc......

preferably just those things right thur ^ that developed all around the same time in the same place (fuck anything else you wanna call hip-hop).

I think THAT idea would be much more viable...and it could really start up...moving all the DJ/Rap shit out of music and making that one more about RockNRoll...and this forum could include graffiti and "hip-hop" art.

I didn't say I LIKED that proposal...but it's one that has a better chance of flying than just a Graff Forum....i was compromising.

and it could be hip-hop culture....and I doubt there would be many Gucci Mane threads. I'll volunteer to be a mod if it's made and Gucci Mane wont happen.

But either way I'd like a forum for graff...just my thoughts.

Your idea would stagnate so hard, whereas I think a closely knit graffiti only section would take off and from there excel rapidly. Tagging can be a brutal obsession, and the more you do it, the worse it gets. This is a perfect place to channel that energy and see what people can do.

I feel that hip hop has nothing to do with graffiti and yes, graffiti is an art form. It's not art when 'gangsters' just go around tagging there gang name with no style whatsoever. Black culture should fall under a new forum called, "Nigger's".

Also something we could do that would definitely draw some attention to the graffiti forum would be to have weekly contests where a word is picked or voted on and whoever can do that word best, win's bragging rights and get's to pick the next word. Like let's say 'muffin' is picked. Some people might gangsta tag the word while others draw a literal muffin. Or a picture of a cute lil' puppy with R.I.P. Muffin under it. Maybe just a huge vagina with lot's of hair.

I think you guys misunderstand the definition of "hip-hop". It's not a musical genre...nor must it really involve "niggers" or "gangsters".

Anyway that was just a way to get the foot in the door. I suggested a new section or something be done to invigorate our art section in M&A...we'll see how it pans out.
