I don't disagree with your soon to be law, I thought it was still socially unacceptable for guys to garner attention for the sake of garnering attention. Attention whoring knows no gender but much like real whores, the majority of them are female because it's easier for girls to get attention -especially on the internet- than guys.

The day that the male species is hunted to near extinction is when guys will start posting their pictures to attention whore (and then subsequently hunted and having their penii harvested as trophies).

Well rabbitweed if were going to get technical it is very hard to make a generalization about any western society because there is so much variation within it;

if you were trying to establish some principal or general rule you would be dealing with western culture not western society.

My society - New Zealand is a prime example of this; we have culture and heritage but in society there is not much pressure to adhere to this because we are such a multi- cultural country; its relativism.

Because western civilisations differ mostly from others in that their society is not neccacarily reflective of the culture (cultural relativism).

But besides that i think girls (maybe not woman, but definitly girls i.e. females about the age of the average zoklet poster) are attention whores moreso than woman have ever been;

and we can thank feminazi-ism and womans suffrage for that.
