How can I use up a load of cream?

Someone just gave me about four and a half litres of double cream. Gonna go off in a few days but seems like a waste to throw it away. Anything good I can make that uses a lot of cream?

Make ice cream first?

Put it in rice pudding and put as much as you can eat in the fridge and freeze the rest.

No fruit, just drink it cold. I recommend adding some yoghurt and salt too. That;s the special "Garrhi lassi"

you can allso make homemade whipped cream or butter whipped cream is easier i used to use a little hand blender and a whisk to do it just add some sugar and whip it up


the butter when we used to make it as kids in boyscouts or something was you take a little salt the heavy cream and 4 or 5 marbles and put it in a mason jar filled to the brim then shake the fuck out of it untill it became a good consistency

Vichyssoise - I put a recipe in the sticky thread. Just substitute milk for cream, and definitely press it through a sieve to make it extra-silky. The sieving makes such a difference.

Make a quick chocolate mousse.

Melt down 500g of 80% dark chocolate in a pint of cream. whip up some meringue, allow the chocolate cream to cool and fold them together. for bonus points, throw some fresh birds eye chillis into the cream and chocolate while they're simmering.
