I've done opiates, but I've never been in 'love'. So I also cannot attest to the comparisons validity.

I was a heroin and oxy addict for a few years.

I've also been in love. The feeling of well-being and intense euphoria I got from the woman I was with easily compared to opiates. I literally became addicted to how that person made me feel. That's all love is, a flooding of "feel good" chemicals in your brain. When we broke up, I became love sick. As gay as it sounds. But it was close, but not the same, as dope sickness.

I also think every one feels love to different extents. I've felt that hollywood/fairytale type love. I'm sure that not every one feels it this intensely or the world would be a LOT crazier. Because at times, love has made me act like a crazy junkie - even when I was clean.
