The same way you wash your car. You spray the dirt and grunge off, and even though you're taking off the wax and dulling the paint a little each time, you're basically extending the life of the car itself. You have to look at the gains verses the losses. When you do a direct action, it's best to target symbols of the oppression. Banks, stores owned by megacorps, government buildings (city hall, police stations). Leave the petty bougies/small shops/etc alone.

Of course it is. Just like cleaning dog shit off your front lawn as well. Yes, it's a messy job, but somebody has got to do it.
