Most Badass Air Rifles EVAR
I never knew they made air rifles in calibers larger than .22, this is some insane shit. I wonder what kind of permits and whatnot are required to import on of the bad boys, I want either a 9mm or .45...
The first video shows all the types of large bore air rifles they make, some really nice rifle models, how much they cost USD and the iinsanely large projectiles they fire!
The second video shows a guy hunts a wild pig with a pimped out .25 Gamo air rifle, I cannot believe how the pig goes down when it gets hit!

Re: Most Badass Air Rifles EVAR
you can get any sized air rifle with no permit
look up quackenbush air rifles he makes some really nice shit i have wanted one of his guns for years next time i save up the cash im going to go on a waiting list for one of them
if you want to be impressed look up the castleman repeater since its air powered it requires no registration it shoots 9mm roundballs and is full auto with like a 30rd mag the only thing is they are super rare and not many were ever made

^There's plans out there on how to make your own but it does take some work and time / money.

Re: Most Badass Air Rifles EVAR
I have seen that .25 airgun pig kill awhile ago and I still think it is irresponsible on Gamo's part to lead people to believe it is that easy to kill game that large with an airgun like that.
Certainly those 9mm and .45 airguns that have the bullet weight and muzzle energy exceeding that of a .38 Special could do it, but a .25 airgun is not much different than a .22 airgun.
Also, I have always really liked the look of the Airforce Talon and Airforce Condor PCP air rifles.

Re: Most Badass Air Rifles EVAR
how do those compare to real steel?
the diameters are the same, but the velocity wouldn't be even close, right? Could the 9mm air round be comparable to any sort of regular ammunition (like a .22)?

A good 9mm airgun could probably kill a deer.
They are comparable to a .38 Special out of a 4" (or so) pistol barrel.

Why not just get a real gun? Are you a felon or something?

what happens when ammo prices go through the roof, or society collapses and people need to hunt their food? not everyone has a reloading setup that allows them to turn 10 rounds into 50 rounds.
bows are another good option but they are hard to hunt or defend with

Dunno about the larger rounds but a lot of good .177 and .22 air rifles reach 1000fps. .22lr ranges from 1000 up to 1400 depending on type.

are you talking about that 32 caliber automatic air gun or is there another set of plans floating around for a 9mm?

http://www.pyramidair.com
They sell big bore air rifles in .357, .45 and .50. Each one is $599.99.
Wouldn't trust a .25 air rifle against a pig, he made it clear he had to get it in a very specific spot, and that was far from an instant kill.
.25 should just make you a bit more confident about killing something like a rabbit with an air rifle.

Re: Most Badass Air Rifles EVAR
They used to have a much larger range of big bore rifles but it seems to have been cut back in the last year. It's a great site for anyone in the USA.
