VS Tetris reminded me of this Yoshi's Island themed game on SNES, called "Tetris Attack" or something. Anyone played that?

That's one tetris I was actually good at because you had to make combos that sent walls of blocks to the other's side screen.

My highest so far is 319K. I'm posting from my phone, otherwise I'd add the screen cap. Before this thread I'd never heard of T-spins or hold slots and hadn't played in about a year. I still haven't got the hang of the T-spin.

Man, I thought I was good at Tetris until I compared my scores in here . However, I've never played it for score but rather time (how long can I go versus how many points can I rack up) so I think if I really wanted to compete in this version of Tetris I'd have to completely change my strategy.

Well, you pretty much get 45k for reaching the "kill screen" if you play for score or not. Once you start getting there, then you need to start changing your strategy, but pretty much everyone ends up playing to survive in the last three or four levels. Also, Tspins earn a lot of points, but you could top any score in this thread on just combos or multi line breaking.

Not including the childhood spent playing tetris, it took me three games. The last one was about a half hour long. The problem with finishing your games, is that your damn tired by the end.
