But she does hate gays. It's obvious and implied and irrational, and both her and the interviewer know that. She answered every question they asked, the answers weren't direct or clear, but they are there.

Everybody needs to look deeper to find their answers. Take everything into account. Form some conclusions ourselves rather than rely on what she physically says.

This is why our political system is fucked, nobody wants information anymore. They just want a quick answer.

I think you miss the point of my objection, if this is a reference to my post. I understand full well the actual answers to the questions asked: she hates gays and she was lying through her teeth. I get what you're saying but when someone asks a simple question and you can't answer it without beating around the bush, you seem kinda fishy. Yes, it's obvious that she doesn't support same-sex marriage and you can tell that by the way she (doesn't) answer the questions. You don't need to hide your answer inside your response no matter what line of work you're in.

As a graphic designer, if someone asked me if I could give them their design in .pdf format I'm not going to say "Well, back when Quark was the main layout software pdf's were slightly harder to export to, with their complicated export system. But around the time InDesign became the main frontrunner in the field, it became quite easy to save things as pdf's and many designers do it on quite a regular basis."

From that, you can infer that "Yes, I can save your project as a pdf." but that's not going to stop you from thinking I'm an idiot who can't answer a question straight up.
