How Many of You Can Do A Flip? Or a Backflip? And how the Fuck did you learn?

I've been trying for the past 2 days, learning from my brother who's into tricking. I don't think I'm getting anywhere.

i learned to do flipz n shit when i was like 13. my younger cousin had her birthday at a gymnastics place so me and the cousinz my age took over the foam pit. they had a trampoline leading into it so i learned all kinds of stuff. a front flip is really easy u just gotta learn how to not land on your neck. but im too tall so i can't really do full flips without a trampoline and water/foam pit

Anything really man. But a front flip in general. Everyone makes it look so easy to do

I can do front flips/front flips with varying amounts of rotation and front hand springs. Front flips are a lot less useful because you can't do anything out of a front flip but land. Back handsprings/back flips are where you get all your power from to do fulls and shit. anyways yeah, my older brother was a cheerleader (LOL) and he can do all kinds of shit

get a trampoline with a foam pit next to it, or a trampoling and water, or just something a little higer than the water, and just kinda like jump forward once then the second jump just flip. just like put your head down, and launch your legs up...it's a natural ability in everyone i believe. you just have to believe you're going to do it, and your body will do it naturally. don't try too hard and you'll probably get it after a few jumpz. be carefull not to break your neck though

how about a pool with a diving board?


also, if you plan on learning this, get someone to spot you. it's pretty nasty watching someone try to backflip and land on their head/neck.

So what you are saying is you can't do them. Anybody can do a flip on a trampoline. You just have to not be scared of it. It's not the same thing.

now i'm over 6 feet tall and very unhealthy... i'm too chicken-shit to attempt it...

A crash-mat would be enough (stand on the ground, jump onto the mat). Add a spotter if you want to try backwards somersaults.

Front: jump, cast your arms over your head as though you were throwing a ball (Kind of like a soccer throw-in), and tuck your legs. Do each pretty much immediately after beginning the other. Untuck in time to land on your feet.

Back: jump, and tuck your legs as you throw them up, over your head. Untuck to land on your feet. Start with your hands above your head; bring them down as you bend your knees and throw them up again powerfully as you jump. Grap your knees as they come around.

In both, tuck your head in - don't try to see where you're going. I should have just posted a pic.

Do you mean on a trampoline, then? I dunno how I learned to do it...a front flip is pretty easy to do in my opinion. The hardest part is getting the landing down which isn't that hard anyways. If you mean a flip on ground then I can't help you there.

No, I don't , but that's not stopping me from trying. I can jump over high stuff and climb quite well, but this flipping stuff is quite hard for me, mostly because I'm chicken shit about hurting myself and end up thinking too hard about the process.

I'm only at the pool during the summer time, because of the heat.

I don't have the fitness to do flips. Shouldn't you work more on general fitness? How much biking do you do/or do just like crashing?

No fuck general fitness. I'm happy with my 1-2 mile jog and pathetic 30 sit ups and other 30 stuff a day.

Used to do it fairly often, as in 3 times a week, but then my bike broke down. Just got a new one, but I'm returning it, because my parents are complaining about money issues

But I also do like some parts of crashing.
