Because he's another Hollywood tool that couldn't stand on his own. So he's done a few good movies, but it was far more the MOVIES themselves that held up, not "Cage's" acting.

Some info for you guys, "Cage's" real name is Coppola. Yes, THAT Coppola. His whole career is based around the fact that his uncle directed 'The Godfather'.

Seriously I don't know why either of them get the amount of acclaim that they do. Just like Cage, Coppola sucks. Go look at his films, seriously... At best, FIVE out of the 30-something films he's directed don't completely suck. Let's not also forget that Coppola is notorious for replacing directors mid-filming and applying his "view" to the unfinished product and fucking the film in a severe way. He's also notorious for quitting mid-filming if he's not allowed to "express himself" (get his way on every piddly little detail).
