Footwear for Bad Ideas?

What do you think is the best type of footwear to do any kind of illegal activity in? It could be anything, but lets say for instance you're a hitman.

A lot of mall ninjas have this obsession with military/"tactical" boots like magnum or 5.11's or something. I hate them. They are all heavy, the soles don't really give, I've never tried to climb a fence in them but it seems like it would be much harder than athletic shoes, and I CANT wear any type of high shoe. I feel like I cant move. Uncomfortable and you cant just slip them off or pull them off without untying them. Can someone tell me how these are "tactical"?

Not to mention if you are stopped, or even seen by anyone and you have them on, it just makes you look like a wierdo.

I think it's best to just use disposable athletic shoes. But I'm curious what your opinions are, and also wtf anyone would choose to wear heavy boots like that.

It depends on the BI. If, for instance, you were doing a job where you needed to be stealthy, in a relatively quite area, (such as a hitman, in your example), you should probably wear some sort of soft bottom shoe, so sneaking would be easier. If your walking on a tile floor with tactical boots on, you won't go unnoticed. But if the job is outside, and you have tall grass and roots, boots would be the way to go. Athletic shoes would be fine if you needed to escape on foot quickly through a building or street, but if you try that in a heavily forested area, where roots and stickers can screw up your legs and make it hard to run, not to mention getting stuck in deep mud.

An athletic shoe would be perfect for most BI's that are discussed on these forums.

Plus, for ops where you wouldn't be conspicuous walking around in a split toe shoe like that, a good pair of tabbi boots generally has great flexibility and traction, plus they're relatively light weight and perhaps it's just me but I seem to recall that the split toe design allows for a bit more balance than normal shoes. Just don't plan on kicking anything with your toed end of the foot.

For anything where you'll be seen? Nothing that stands out. That means, go to Walmart, Big Lots, whatever, find the cheapest shit pair of sneakers you can, and use those. You'll be burning them after the deed is done anyways.

I.cannot.fucking.run.in.those. I've tried athletic shoes, boots, it.does.not.work. I end up getting exhausted in 5 minutes even if I pace myself or blowing out my muscles. Minimalist shoes are the only things that work for me.

If I needed to run longer than sprinting distance, I'd be fucked.

As I said, there are other shoes. I think the Vibrams look cool and I don't give a shit if other people think they look retarded because I'm not a self-conscious metrosexual FAGGOT!!!
