I chose Bulbasaur on Pokemon red, I trained the fuck out of him and when he was Venasaur he could push in any pokemon's shit with just one razor leaf attack. plus I had fucking awesome Gameboy color I got at this comic book shop that was straight clear, not that translucent purple shit, just clear. It was fucking cool, I never saw another one and the instructions were in all Japanese, no english. Obviously I was the man.

I had my Gameboy and my grandma's so I got a link cable.

I played through Red with squirtle and got bulbasaur in blue version until I had all the pokemon that were unique to Blue. Then I traded all the unique Blue pokemon to my Red copy and never played Blue again.

Squirtle. In order of easiness at gym battles, it goes Bulbasaur>Squirtle>Charmander. Of course, I always ditched my starting my Pokemon, so I just needed something to help me get past Brock.

I did this with my friend's copy of blue to get the unique ones, but i traded for his high level pokemon and they rebelled
