I thought he was OK in that 13 (think that's what it was called). Only straight roll I've seen him in. He's had a few pretty funny films, Ace Ventura, Dumb & Dumber, Cable Guy (love him in this). There's worse actors out there judging by their material.

Jim Carrey is amazing in Man on the Moon. He plays Andi Kaufman amazingly.
He just stars in way too many watered down, family friendly, mildly funny, comedies nowadays.

He is just like most of the other entertainers....Once they get money in their pocket, they start to suck. They lose the hunger that made them ambitious and creative. The richer they get the more they suck. Jim Carrey has become pretty wealthy lately.

Almost everything he did before Truman Show was funny.
Then he just became a sensetive soccer dad and started doing shitty family movies 
And In Living Color was fucking awesome.

He overacts and it gets annoying pretty fast. He's just a hit or miss kinda guy. I've enjoyed some of his movies, but a lot of the time he can piss me off.

Then don't watch his comedy. I don't really care for him in comedy movies either. But he's excellent in Good Morning Vietnam!, Good Will Hunting, Insomnia, and One Hour Photo to name a few.
Also Fern Gully of course.
And he was amazing in the Law & Order episode he did recently.

I like Robin William's movies, but only because he reminds me of a dead family member. His stand up stuff is okay if you don't watch more than 5 minutes. Good movies, mediocre comedy.
