2011-2012 English Premier League
First games of the season kicked off today and I totally forgot to wake up early to catch them. Only managed to watch the Newcastle v Arsenlol game. I forgot which player it was but he grabbed Gervhino after he flopped and shook him around violently and some how didn't get sent off. Then the black dude kind of pushed his head and he flopped and got the guy he shaking sent off haha.
I thought it was some bullshit but I'm not a fan of either team so i don't really care.
Kind of a shame an American has to make the Premier league season thread. Step your game up Brits.
Oh yeah, and Liverpool will win the league.

Well, I hope so. Not a great start though, nice goal by Suarez but he missed a penalty .
Should be a good season anyway, five or six teams with a genuine shot at winning the league.

This is why American's shouldn't start threads about football.
Anyway, watched the the Bolton vs QPR game today which was very exciting. Bolton were on great form and, from the looks of things, QPR are going straight down.
Also got the highlights of the Liverpool vs Sunderland game. Liverpool threw away a perfectly comfortable lead and proved that they struggle when they go ahead. Larsson's goal was amazing. Goal of the month perhaps. Although they should have gone down to 10 men when Richardson fouled Saurez.
Looking forward to the first Chelsea game this season. Want to know what Villa-Boas is doing with the team.

Not at all. Second half of last season they were playing as well as anyone else (like when they destroyed ManU). They just give away silly games against teams they should have no problem against. They've got as good a chance as anyone though this season... fucking Kenny guys.

Re: 2011-2012 English Premier League
Well being a big Sunderland supporter I was pretty happy to see Suarez miss that penalty. Larsson's goal for Sunderland is easily the best goal of the day, as I'm sure most people would agree, and yet it wasn't even mentioned on Match of the Day; I guess because Alan Hansen just wanted to talk about Liverpool. We did come back in the second half, especially towards the end, but funnily enough no one mentioned that either.. As for the foul, he got a penalty out of it but it wasn't a sending off as he was heading wide of the goal and Richardson didn't intentionally bring him down.
Newcastle United are the scum of the fucking earth and Joey Barton is a wanker. I came as no surprise to me when he grabbed Gervhino for diving and then dropped like a sack of shite as soon as he got touched. Song is a dirty bastard for stamping on Barton though. I went out to watch the match from start to finish hoping for an Arsenal win and it was boring as hell.
Arsenal, as always, play well but can't score for shit.

They did on Radio 5 but yeah not on match of the day. Fair play though, probably didn't deserve to lose after how you played in the second half.

The reason Brits haven't made a thread about the Premier League is because it's terrible and nobody really gives a fuck about it anymore.

We should have had two penalties, one foul on Torres on the edge of the box, the other on Lampard.
However, I got to admit it wasn't a great performance. We held the ball for most of the game but didn't seem to have that clinical edge to finish the game off. Torres was more impressive that he has been all of last season - his running with the ball was suburb - but Stokes defence closed him down too much and he waited to long before striking or passing.
Man Utd will probabyl retain the title again this year. No other team look strong enough on paper or on the pitch right now.

Re: 2011-2012 English Premier League
Man U, Chelsea and Man City are the only ones who will challenge for the title this year unless Arsenal make at least 2 more signings (Chris Samba being the ideal one).
I'm a big Arsenal fan and if they want to challenge for the title they will have to switch there formation around more often, 4 5 1 has it's moments but at times can simply not create enough clear chances (as it didn't yesterday vs Newcastle), 4 4 2 will have be used. Arsenal have never been successful since changing to a stubborn 4 5 1 formation.
And Ayingerbrua your a retard.

It's done. £30 million for a five year contract plus another £5million if Barca win La Liga twice and the Champions League once in the next five years, which is pretty much a certainty.

Re: 2011-2012 English Premier League
Man City have a shot at winning the league however Mancini is not the best manager and if he still believes going away to the bigger clubs and playing for a draw will give him a shot at the title then he has no chance.
Aguero looked class today but he was playing against Swansea who looked pathetic in the centre of midfield (Though I think Dobbie is a good player) and there lone striker was no good.

Went to our (LFC) last friendly match against Valencia, Downing was pretty sublime, played a blinder today too.
