i hate dead kennedys

so i use to really be into punk rock early 00's decade. and i still listen to some on occasion.

however i never never liked dead kennedys. i hate there punk style. im sure it being unique to punk made certain people like it. but i just can't stand it

to me they are like the hillbillies of punk.

I like the dead kennedys because i feel like their songs/lyrics had a bit more depth to them than other punk bands. Whereas the sex pistols were all "woo anarchy" without really putting any thought behind it, jello biafra actually seemed to understand what he was talking about.

Yeah, but that's the thing about punk. The Sex Pistols and the early UK stuff was all about freedom and nihilism; they didn't need a real political message. They were basically new hippies.

I wouldn't call the Sex Pistols "new hippies". While the hippies were comprised of mainly upper middle class kids, the punks were solidly working class.

Hippies were also upper-lower class, lower-middle class, and middle-middle class (). So were punks. Only gutterpunks are truly lower class; your average punk rock afficionado is pretty much middle class or maybe lower-middle class.

California Uber Alles gets me pumped up every time I hear it...Jello Biafra is the smartest guy in Punk...DK is one of the best punk bands of their time...They were also pretty decent musicians. They're not just thrashing away at the guitar and bass; you can tell the guitarist has some actual skill and puts a good so-cal spin to their sound...I love them!
